In 2268, Wilkins excavated a cave near their colony that inadvertently released the last surviving inhabitant of the planet, an enitity called Gorgan. Gorgan had taken refuge in the cave many centuries ago, when its civilization was destroyed. (TOS: "And the Children Shall Lead" ) This character was only mentioned in dialogue.
