Planet Q is a planet that was the site of a Federation colony in the 23rd century. Planet Q was an inhabited planet and the location of a Federation colony. Cygnia Minor was located near this planet. As part of the Galactic Cultural Exchange Project, the Karidian Company of Players performed an Arcturian version of Macbeth on Planet Q in 2266. At that time, Doctor Thomas Leighton, a resident of Planet Q and old friend of Captain James Kirk, sent a signal to the USS Enterprise, informing Kirk that he had discovered an extraordinary new synthetic food, which would end the threat of famine on nearby Cygnia Minor. It was soon discovered, however, that Leighton had lied about the discovery in order to lure the Enterprise to Planet Q to convince Kirk that he had found Kodos. (TOS: "The Conscience of the King" ) By the 2260s, researcher Thomas Leighton and his wife Martha had located themselves on the colony. During a visit by the Karidian Company of Players in late 2266, Leighton discovered that Anton Karidian was actually the wanted mass murderer, Kodos the Executioner. After making the discovery, Leighton had the USS Enterprise diverted to Planet Q and pleaded with Captain James T. Kirk to investigate and hopefully expose Karidian. (TOS episode: "The Conscience of the King") Planet Q is a homeworld of the Cicada People and their robot Garamon. Planet Q is seen on Ultra Q and Ultraman, where it is known as Kodon in the English dub. It has two natural monsters, Saigo and Kiyla. The world of sand known as Planet Q was home to the beings known today as Alpha Q, Scorponok and the Terrorcons. But like those beings, the world was destined for a tragic fate at the hands of the chaos-bringer, Unicron. Planet Q was an inhabited planet and the location of a Federation colony. Cygnia Minor was located near this planet. As part of the Galactic Cultural Exchange Project, the Karidian Company of Players performed an Arcturian version of Macbeth on Planet Q in 2266. Lolita Fatjo traveled there on the SS Manoa, Jimmy Berndt traveled to Planet Q on the SS Kogin, and J.P. Farrell and Carl Banks traveled there on the SS Wisconsin. (TNG-R: "Inheritance" , okudagram) In the revised final draft script of "The Conscience of the King", Planet Q was described, as seen from orbit, as "a mistily defined planet." A city on the planet's surface was scripted to be "a strange, modernistic city," and the script then went on to remark (in a bracketed note), "The CUT OUT from PILOT ONE, if possible." Indeed, the Planet Q city was ultimately represented with a futuristic skyline that had originally been used to depict Mojave in the first Star Trek pilot, "The Cage" . (The Art of Star Trek, p. 22) According to Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I", "United Federation of Planets III") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), Planet Q orbited a F-class star in the Alpha Quadrant.
