Vanir Vanir Vanir Vanir Vanir Vanir Vanir Vanir
rdfs:comment
Vanir is the fourth album from Swedish doom metal band Yggdrasill Burning, released on October 24th 1996. It is preceded by 1994's Æsir and followed by 1997's Ainulindalë. The song "The Vanir, Indomitable, Were Trampling the Plain" is named after line in the Poetic Edda's recount of the Æsir–Vanir War in Norse mythology. The album also features many other heavy influences from Norse mythology. The Vanir are a race of small humanoid creatures that mainly live beneath the spheres of Aensetr Derrum. Although they have no supernatural power, they are sometimes referred to as Machine Spirits Due to the iridescent glow of their wings. The Vanir are a race of Norns described in Creatures original mythos. They built Niflheim and, unlike the other Norn races, didn't go on The Journey. In Norse mythology, they were a race of gods concerned with wealth, pleasure, fertility, and the sea, wilder than the Aesir. The story of the hybrid Vanir is one that has been passed down within the countries of Feila for generations. Originally, the tale was told simply by mouth, but years after it took place, an unnamed poet took these stories and combined them into one epic poem. The Valde Talis, as the story was come to be known as, continues to haunt highschool furries in the Age of Drive-By Shootings. Home to Thomas Njord, Capital city of the nation Ásgarðr The Vanir were controlled by the Corporation with the anti-viral drug Hydromel, which they depended on for protection against Lazar's disease. Their escape from the station was prevented by isolating them from the spaceship that successfully treated Lazars; until the intercession of the Fifth Doctor, they were unaware such a ship even existed. Vanir were outfitted with a suit of armour that served as a method for administering Hydromel. A cylinder of Hydromel was inserted into the chest piece, and appeared to be gradually depleted. Most of the Vanir had a pale, gaunt appearance. History of this race is unknown. While not specified, Hogun the Grim is introduced as one of the Warriors Three. Vanaheim, the home world of the Vanir, is later mentioned by Thor to Jane while explaining the Nine Realms. The Vanir are a military group appearing in Odin Sphere. They are the army of the Fairy kingdom and are based within the southern realm of Ringford The Vanir, also known as the Lost Tribe, are a group of Asgard in the Pegasus galaxy that live inside powerful and resilient battle suits. The Vanir are the people of Vanaheim. The Vanir are the second pantheon of deities in the Norse system. They are deities of fertility, the sea, and of prosperity. This article is a stub. A Vanir is a Norse Fertility God of Wisdom and Future appearing in the Season 1 episode Scarecrow in Burkitsville, Indiana. In Norse myth, the Vanir are originally a group of wild nature and fertility gods and goddesses, the sworn enemies of the warrior gods of the Aesir. They were considered to be the bringers of health, youth, fertility, luck and wealth, and masters of magic. The Vanir live in Vanaheim. The name "Vanir" might be derived from the old-Norse word vinr which means "friend". The Vanir are a race of human-like beings native to Vanaheim. They share many physical traits with the Asgardians, including longevity. Vanir (which translates into "earth giants") are bronze-skinned titans who crafted the mountains and deep places of the world. Their children are the dwarves, gnomes and the cursed troggs who helped them carve out the earth. Like the aesir, they tend to stay away from mortal creatures. Vanir are tougher, but less powerful, than the aesir. They have a connection to the element of Earth. The Vanir is the race of ice giants featured in Valkyrie Profile. Ragnarok will begin when the Vanir go to war with the Aesir. Hel and the undead wage war against the Aesir at the same time as the Vanir but there is no indication that the two are allies. Surt specifically states that he does not need the help of monsters like Bloodbane or Fenrir when Loki offers their services. Vanir was a young, yet powerful elf warrior and magician who lived in Ellesméra. In Norse mythology, the Vanir (/ˈvɑːnɪr/; singular Vanr) are a group of gods associated with fertility, wisdom, nature, magic, and the ability to see the future. The Vanir are one of two groups of gods (the other being the Æsir) and are the namesake of the location Vanaheimr (Old Norse "Home of the Vanir"). After the Æsir-Vanir War, the Vanir became a subgroup of the Æsir. Subsequently, members of the Vanir are sometimes also referred to as members of the Æsir. In Norse mythology, the Vanir (singular Vanr) are a group of gods associated with fertility, wisdom, and the ability to see the future. The Vanir are one of two groups of gods (the other being the Æsir) and are the namesake of the location Vanaheimr ("Home of the Vanir"). After the Æsir–Vanir War, the Vanir became a subgroup of the Æsir. Subsequently, members of the Vanir are sometimes also referred to as members of the Æsir.

While not specified, Hogun the Grim is introduced as one of the Warriors Three. Vanaheim, the home world of the Vanir, is later mentioned by Thor to Jane while explaining the Nine Realms. The Vanir are a military group appearing in Odin Sphere. They are the army of the Fairy kingdom and are based within the southern realm of Ringford Die Vanir(titanisch für Erdriesen) sind bronze-häutigeTitanen. The Vanir, also known as the Lost Tribe, are a group of Asgard in the Pegasus galaxy that live inside powerful and resilient battle suits. The story of the hybrid Vanir is one that has been passed down within the countries of Feila for generations. Originally, the tale was told simply by mouth, but years after it took place, an unnamed poet took these stories and combined them into one epic poem. The Valde Talis, as the story was come to be known as, continues to haunt highschool furries in the Age of Drive-By Shootings. thumb|Hogun, un Vanir, en su mundo de origen de Vanaheim Los Vanir son una raza divina que habita en el reino de Vanaheim. The Vanir are attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources; the Prose Edda and Heimskringla, both written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson; and in the poetry of skalds. The Vanir are only attested in these Old Norse sources, unlike the Æsir, who are attested widely among the Germanic peoples. Vanir is sometimes anglicized to Wanes (singular Wane). All sources describe the deities Njörðr, Freyr, and Freyja as members of the Vanir. A euhemerized prose account in Heimskringla adds that Njörðr's sister—whose name is not provided—and Kvasir were Vanir. In addition, Heimskringla reports a tale involving king Sveigðir's visit to Vanaheimr, where he meets a woman by the name of Vana and the two produce a child named Vanlandi (whose name means "Man from the Land of the Vanir"). While not attested as Vanir, the gods Heimdallr and Ullr have been theorized as potential members of the group. In the Prose Edda, a name listed for boars is "Van-child". Scholars have theorized that the Vanir may be connected to small pieces of gold foil, gullgubber, found in Scandinavia at some building sites from the Migration Period to the Viking Age and occasionally in graves, have asked whether the Vanir originally represented pre-Indo-European deities or Indo-European fertility gods, and have theorized a form of the gods as venerated by the pagan Anglo-Saxons. The Vanir are the people of Vanaheim. A Vanir, más néven az Elveszett Törzs, egy a Pegazus Galaxisban élő Asgardok csoportja. The Vanir are the second pantheon of deities in the Norse system. They are deities of fertility, the sea, and of prosperity. This article is a stub. You can help WikiPagan by [ expanding it]. History of this race is unknown. The Vanir are a race of human-like beings native to Vanaheim. They share many physical traits with the Asgardians, including longevity. Some Vanir include: * Njörðr (God of the Sea) * Nerthus (Sister and wife of Njörðr as well as a fertility goddess) * Skaði (Later wife of Njörðr, goddess of winter and hunt) * Freyja (Goddess of fertility and daughter of Njörðr. Married to Óðr) * Freyr (Son of Njörðr and a god of fertility and fair weather. Ruler of Alfheim) * Ullr (Son of Sif and her first husband, stepson of Thor, and god of the hunt) * Heimdallr (Guardian of the Bifröst Bridge in Asgard) * Óðr (Husband of Freyja. Some identify him as a form of Odin) * Hnoss (Daughter of Freyja) * Gersemi (Daughter of Freyja) * Skírnir (Servant of Freyr) * Vana (Unknown goddess. Married Sveigdr, mortal king of Sweden. Mother of Vanlandi) * Kvasir (God of Wisdom. Killed by dwarves who mixed his blood with honey to create the mead of poetry Die Vanir sind die Bewohner von Vanaheim, eine der Neun Welten. A Vanir is a Norse Fertility God of Wisdom and Future appearing in the Season 1 episode Scarecrow in Burkitsville, Indiana. The Vanir were controlled by the Corporation with the anti-viral drug Hydromel, which they depended on for protection against Lazar's disease. At least one of the Vanir was formerly a space pirate until he was betrayed into slavery by his commander. The origin of the other Vanir is unknown. Most of the Vanir had a pale, gaunt appearance. Since the slavery of the Vanir was completely dependent on Hydromel, they were able to free themselves once Nyssa agreed to stay on Terminus to synthesise it for them. (TV: Terminus) In Norse myth, the Vanir are originally a group of wild nature and fertility gods and goddesses, the sworn enemies of the warrior gods of the Aesir. They were considered to be the bringers of health, youth, fertility, luck and wealth, and masters of magic. The Vanir live in Vanaheim. The Aesir and the Vanir had been at war for a long time when they decided to make peace. To ensure this peace they traded hostages: the Vanir sent their most renowned gods, the wealthy Njord and his children Freya and Freyr. In exchange the Aesir sent Honir, a big, handsome man who they claimed was suited to rule. He was accompanied by Mimir, the wisest man of the Aesir and in return the Vanir sent their wisest man Kvasir. Honir however, was not as smart as the Aesir claimed he was and it was actually Mimir who gave him advice. The Vanir grew suspicious of the answers Honir gave when Mimir was not around. Eventually they figured out that they had been cheated and they cut Mimir's head off and sent it back to the Aesir. Fortunately, this betrayal did not lead to another war and all the gods of the Vanir were subsequently integrated with the Aesir. There is not much known about the Vanir of the time before the assimilation. The name "Vanir" might be derived from the old-Norse word vinr which means "friend".
