  • Claremont is known primarily as the writer of the sprawling, ambitious 12-issue maxiseries Aliens/Predator: The Deadliest of the Species, the second Aliens vs. Predator series to be produced. The project came after break Claremont had taken from the comics industry and marked his return to the field, though not at his usual home with Marvel Comics. Deadliest of the Species was preceded by the short creator-owned Renegade, which served as a lead-in and tie-in to the series featuring Deadliest of the Species character Ash Parnall as the protagonist. The story was later referred to as Aliens: Renegade when reprinted in the UK Aliens magazine, though no actual Xenomorphs appear in it.
