  • Rest is a device that allows more casual gamers to stay somewhat on par with other players, as to character level. It's also a clever device to encourage less-active players to keep their accounts, making players want to come back and play some more after some time away from the game. Rest also adds more value to the subscription fee. In light of the controversy of game addiction, rest also gives players reason to cease play. • The spell Suspension is said to apply a magic process called Rest twice through its operation as a Single Target type process.

  • Rest is a gameplay mechanic synonymous with sleep. Rest is required to level up (except in Arena or Skyrim), to become a vampire, and participate in certain quests such as the Anvil Recommendation and joining the Dark Brotherhood. If resting, fatigue (stamina), magicka (unless born under the Atronach birthsign), and health will restore to maximum. The amount of fatigue, magicka, and health restored is irrelevant (except in Arena) to the amount of time slept; sleeping just one hour will restore all bars to maximum.
  • Resting is a mechanic that can be done on SAFE locations (click on the "REST" button at the bottom of your screen). Resting restores all your Stamina Points and Nevernal Reserve. Having a quickstone allows to auto-rest, which is not exactly the same mechanic. Auto-rest restores your SP and NV, but does not trigger the rest of the mechanics (see below)
  • Rest vaporizes into a form that is much easier to carry around. This skill is only usable if Homunculus has at least 80% of it's Max HP. Rested Homunculus can be restored with the Call Homunculus skill. On iRO, this skill is known as Vaporize.
  • File:Rest.png Resting is an important aspect of your life in Erinn. Make sure to take adequate rest if you want to maintain your health. Especially when you are wounded during a battle and your body is aching, or when you are fatigued from a hard day's work, it is good to know how to take a rest that soothes and restores your body's energy.
  • Rest is a command to rest, increasing HP, MV, and SP/DP regen rates.
  • Rest (ねむる Nemuru?, lit. "to Sleep"; referred to as Sleep on the original Super Smash Bros. website) is Jigglypuff's Down Special. Jigglypuff turns toward the camera and falls asleep for several seconds. Before Jigglypuff falls asleep, any opponent in contact with it is instantly hit. This attack is infamous for its high, upward knockback, no startup lag, very small range, and long vulnerability period. Jigglypuff gains invincibility frames for approximately the time it takes to close its eyes.
  • Rest is the 230th chapter of Akira Amano's Katekyō Hitman Reborn!
  • Rest is the 196th chapter of Morikawa Jouji's manga series Hajime no Ippo.
  • After the Crown Game, Rachel’s team didn’t take the crown and Hwa Ryun was carried away. Lero-Ro confronts Yu Han Sung, saying that his test was a failure, since Rachel’s team didn’t ascend. Yu Han Sung responds by telling Lero-Ro the true purpose of this Floor, asking him who the most dangerous person was and if they weren’t stopped because of a certain person he sent. As Lero-Ro leaves, he asks Yu Han Sung if there was anyone he knew of that could manipulate shinsoo without a contract. Yu Han Sung says that he’s only heard of Urek Mazino performing such a feat. As Lero-Ro walks away, Yu Han Sung comments to himself that Lero-Ro was difficult to control.

  • At any time, players can right-click the run button next to the minimap and select "Rest" from the menu. By default, resting players sit down in a relaxed stance; alternating between two possible sitting positions (three for female characters). While in this stance energy and life points will regenerate far quicker. At level 1 Agility, run energy will regenerate at 2.8 points per second when resting as opposed to 0.44 points per second when not. Life points are also regained much faster. Exactly 1% per 6 seconds (rounded up) in addition to the normal rate of 0.1% life points per 6 seconds. Unfortunately, resting does not benefit from the Rapid Heal prayer, still restoring only 1% of your life points every 6 seconds.
  • Resting allows a character to regain lost hit points and replenish spell slots. Any creatures summoned by that character will be unsummoned, and any lingering spell effects cast by that character will dissipate upon the beginning of a rest. A completed rest cycle also removes magical and extraordinary effects on the rested character. Supernatural effects, including most poisons and diseases (but not necessarily the damage caused by these) are not removed by resting. In addition, resting will cause a disease to progress, forcing the resting character to make a saving throw to attempt to resist the disease.

Odpoczynek nie jest możliwy, gdy gracz jest zatruty, chory, atakowany lub znajduje się w formie małpy lub pingwina. Podczas odpoczynku jesteśmy narażeni na atak graczy lub NPC. • Resting allows a character to regain lost hit points and memorize spells. Resting is considered the end of the day, and all abilities and items with uses per day will be recharged. You can not rest when enemies are nearby, or immediately after being in combat or casting a spell. In certain areas you can not rest at all, and in other areas enemies may interrupt you while resting. In the official campaign it takes 5 seconds to rest, and there are no other restrictions on how often you can do so. The rules of resting may be different in other modules.
  • Rest only casts spells that affect everyone in battle so Lady will be fully healed each time he attacks. This ensures that when Lady uses White Wind, Rest will be healed as well. Rest uses Tornado or Meltdown on his first turn, and Doom on his second turn. When his HP falls below 10,240, he will begin using Meteor every turn, and counters attacks with either Meteor or Trine, an attack the player likely hasn't seen before that inflicts Silence and Blind on the party. When Rest dies he uses Repose twice, which inflicts Instant Death and ignores immunity.

  • Rest is Jigglypuff's down special move in Super Smash Flash 2. When this move is used, Jigglypuff falls asleep for a little while, doing no damage if Jigglypuff is out of proximity with an enemy or opponent. However, if Jigglypuff uses Rest while an opponent is in contact with it (as Jigglypuff's entire body encompasses the hitbox), the opponent will suffer 18% damage and be launched with extremely high velocity and knockback. The attack comes out in one frame and in that one frame if Jigglypuff will have invincibility frames as well. The attack's hitbox is 25% smaller than it's Super Smash Bros. Melee incarnation. The special effect Rest gives off makes it look like its Super Smash Bros. appearance.

Therefore, the resting ability does not give immunity to the attacks of other players or NPCs.

As Lero-Ro walks away, Yu Han Sung comments to himself that Lero-Ro was difficult to control. Elsewhere, Anak walks into Leesoo's room and tells him to talk to Black March, since Black March wouldn’t talk to girls. Leesoo tries multiple times, only to get severely electrocuted. She leaves in disgust, walking into Androssi along the way. Anak is called a fake by Androssi and tries to punch her but fails. She asks Androssi about Rachel, who responds that she got the impression that she shouldn’t fight her because she came from an unnatural place. Meanwhile, Koon is sitting by Baam's bedside when Rachel comes in. They talk about Baam’s past with her, and the legend of the Tower and what’s outside. Rak is also worried about Baam, though he comically denies it. Two days after the Position Test starts, Baam regains consciousness.

Supernatural effects are not removed by resting, but Magical and Extraordinary effects are removed. Hit points and spells are regained periodically while resting, so even if the rest is ended prematurely, some hit points and spells will still be regained. All buffs are removed immediately when the rest is initiated, though. Spells regained start with the lowest spell levels, progressing towards the higher spell levels. Therefore, cantrips are recharged first, and your highest level spells will require a complete rest to regain.

Resting can only be started in areas that permit resting, and only if there are no hostile creatures within a certain distance (even if there is no access from the creature to the character attempting to rest). Some modules (including the Shadows of Undrentide campaign) will allow resting in some areas only if a character is in a certain part of the area, possibly requiring that all doors to the room be closed first. Resting can be interrupted (by player action or monster attack). If this occurs, only partial benefits of rest are obtained. Hit points are restored gradually (linearly) over the rest period, while spell slots are restored at irregular intervals, starting with level 0. The slots for the highest spell level a character can cast are only restored if the rest cycle completes. Some modules (including the Hordes of the Underdark campaign) provide the possibility of rest being interrupted by "wandering" (technically spawned) monsters. Resting restrictions are somewhat common in some modules, particularly persistent worlds. These restrictions often include a limit on how often a character can rest, and sometimes a limit on how many hit points are restored. (Technically, full hit points are restored, followed by the character being damaged to remove the points in excess of what the world allows per rest cycle.) In addition, special items, such as rations, firewood, or a bedroll, may be required in order to rest.
Unfortunately, resting doesn't benefit from the Rapid Heal prayer, more life points every 6 seconds. Rest is not functional if one is poisoned, being attacked, holding a banner, or in the form of a monkey, goblin or a penguin. Therefore, the resting ability does not give immunity to the attacks of other players or NPCs.
Blizzard has also stated that World of Warcraft play should be taken in moderation according to loading screen tips. Execute the following script to display the amount of Rested XP your character has earned:
  • Rest is the 230th chapter of Akira Amano's Katekyō Hitman Reborn!
  • Rest is the 196th chapter of Morikawa Jouji's manga series Hajime no Ippo.
The special effect Rest gives off makes it look like its Super Smash Bros. appearance. Rest is one of Jigglypuff's most potent moves, and one of the most powerful moves in the game. This is due to not only the fact that it deals very high damage and knockback, being able to KO reliably at low percentages.
