In 2369, when she was one hundred years old, she heard arguments in the case for extradition of Jadzia Dax from Deep Space 9 for charges of murder and treason on Klaestron IV. She was straight forward and somewhat blunt, having no patience for the overzealous arguments of Ilon Tandro and telling him so. She had a great-granddaughter who was Jadzia's age at the time. Syjin had been accused by the Cardassians of smuggling maraji crystals into the Cardassian Korto Enclave, a claim Syjin denied. Renora ultimately ruled against Tandro's request when evidence exonerating Dax of the crimes was brought forward. She had a great-granddaughter who was Jadzia's age at the time. (DS9: "Dax") Els Renora was played by Anne Haney. Her name comes from the script . According to the script, Renora was pronounced as "ren-O-ruh". A younger Els appears in the Star Trek: Terok Nor novel Day of the Vipers.
