Late one night he broke into McDonalds and tried to steal dinner. An alarm went off and he panicked, locking himself in the walk-in freezer. The investigating officer, finding Ozzy nearly frozen and covered in icicles asked him, "what's your name boy?" Poor kid tried to tell him but his mouth was frozen shut. So he tried to tell him in sign language. The officer, thinking he was reaching for a gun, tasered him. During the ample spare time John Michael suddenly found he had lots of he decided that he would tattoo the letters O-Z-Z-Y across his left knuckles with a sewing needle and some floor cleaner. Osbourne would later form a band with former Birchfield Road School classmate Tony Iommi after he auditioned for a lead singer. During this time, psychedelic rock was enormously popular. To distinguish themselves from the norm, Iommi and his partners decided to play a heavy blues-inspired style of music laced with gloomy lyrics.Names for the band included Polka Tulk and Earth. They later learned of another travelling band of the same name. One day during rehearsals, the band noticed people queueing up outside a cinema where a horror film was being shown, and bassist Geezer Butler observed how curious it is that people like to be frightened. The film these fellows were waiting to see was the Bava-directed Sabbath]. After reading an occult book that Osbourne had let Butler borrow, Butler had a dream of a dark figure at the end of his bed. Afterwards, Butler wrote the lyrics to "Black Sabbath", one of their first songs in a darker vein. It was the prototype of the songs that became their main style later in their career.

- Ozzy Osbourne (b. 1948) is a musician active in the industry since the 1960s. He's known for an urban legend that consists of his biting the heads off of bats during stage concerts. From 2002-2005, he appeared in a reality show called The Osbournes with his wife Sharon Osbourne, and their daughter Kelly Osbourne. In 1994, he recorded a version of Born to Be Wild with Miss Piggy for Kermit Unpigged. He appeared alongside Kermit the Frog at the Golden Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II in 2002, and posed for a press photo with Kermit that recalls his tendency for biting animal heads. "Yakety Yak - Take It Back", a 1991 recycling PSA that aired on Sesame Street, featured Osbourne. He and Sharon appeared on the May 13, 2005 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live with Fozzie Bear and Rizzo the Rat who were there promoting The Muppets' Wizard of Oz.
