- Neera is the high priestan of Acquara, as seen in the Farscape episode "Jeremiah Crichton." The mother of Rokon, Neera abused her position and schemed to increase her authority. She manipulates her son's jealousy against John Crichton. She has also used a distorted version of the sacred text, the Timbala, to raise the Hynerians to deity status. When Hynerian Rygel arrives in person, Neera first tries to use him as well, but then denounces him as a false god when he reveals what he's learned. With the help of Crichton and D'Argo, however, the truth is revealed and Neera is deposed.

- Neera is an Iguanodon from Disney's 2000 CG film Dinosaur. She is the sister of Kron. She ends up falling in love with Aladar because of his compassionate ways.
- In 2005, the Wraith Queen whom she served had her cocooned in the hope that Lt. Colonel John Sheppard would try to rescue her when trying to escape and be recaptured. Neera told Sheppard that her people had been culled by the Wraith, and her mother and younger brother had been fed upon. She further asked Sheppard what his world was like, and where he was from. Sheppard then realized that Neera was some sort of spy. After the Queen tried to interrogate him again, Neera was brought into the room as well, but fled when Aiden Ford killed the Wraith guarding the Queen. As a result, she was aware of the priestan caste's secret use of the sacred book Timbala, distorting the truth of the Hynerian Empire's place as deities rather than merely sovereigns in an effort to keep the Acquarans ignorant and the priestans in power. In this regard, Neera tried to gather more power to herself by pressuring her son Rokon to marry Lishala, the daughter of the village's Grondeer or chief. The arrival of John Crichton, however, threatened this plan and she urged her son to get rid of Crichton. When Ka D'Argo arrived to recover Crichton, Neera was instrumental in turning the village against him and Crichton and later, after the revelation that Rygel might be the Masata, the Acquaran savior that would take them from the planet, Neera pushed forward the ceremony that would have the Hynerian alive. By this point, however, the crew of Moya had discovered the truth behind the planet's power dampening nature: a device left behind by the Hynerian Empire. From this and Rygel's reading of the Timbala they pieced together the priestan's part in continuing the Empire's repression. Crichton eventually exposed this when he discovered and deactivated the device. With the truth known, Neera lost her position as priestan. ("Jeremiah Crichton")

Neera abandoned her beliefs during that crisis and many of her fellow Force 57 adherents were killed during the fighting between various Sith factions. Later, she and the other surviving members of Force 57 supported a construction project by Edell Vrai and Korsin Bentado which sought to purge the last relic of the Tribe's shameful history by destroying the Omen, which was housed beneath the Kesh Sith Temple. Neera later supported the Caretaker Varner Hilts' ascension to the Grand Lordship, which ended the Time of the Rot and ushered in the Hilts Restoration.
