  • The observation deck is a location on board Mothership Zeta.
  • After barricading himself inside the watchtower, he asked Cindy Lennox to let his remaining comrades know that he was safe. According to a file found, Austin is the owner of the Hunting Rifle found in the Observation deck. It may be possible he survived the Raccoon Zoo incident at least due to Patrick and Lloyd commenting on how he could handle the current situation when the player talks to them after talking to Austin. However, this is unconfirmed.
  • It is from this location that James Sunderland begins his journey in Silent Hill 2. There are no items of interest in this location except for a town map, which he can retrieve from his parked car, and a Blue Gem by one of the restroom stalls, which can be found during a replay to get the game's secret UFO Ending. During James's layover in the town, County Road 73 is closed to travelers.
  • During the first encounter with the Nakai species' mothership, members of the crew watched the ensuing fighter battle from the observation deck. (SGU: "Space") When the crew began to hallucinate, Chloe Armstrong went to the deck with an image of her father. Eager at the chance to reconnect in any way, she sat at the bar, talking with him and was very reluctant to leave, despite knowing full-well he was a hallucination. (SGU: "Pain")
  • Players can 'pay to play' Observation Deck from level 90 onward, where they can choose to pay with crystals (which will need to be bought with real money) to unlock the Picture early, rather than waiting until they reach level 92 and unlock it for free, through normal game play. Once the timed challenges are complete or when the timer runs out (whichever happens first), the Tokens can only be won in Crashed Plane and Mayan Temple. Tokens could not be gifted between Friends, however 5 Travel Time collections give them as rewards for combining. From the Diary:

Some stations and larger starships had purpose-built observation decks, but often, smaller spacecraft lacked a dedicated observation deck and utilized the cockpit for the same function. The observation deck was fundamentally a form of passive sensor collection. Notable locations include the Emperor's throne room on board the first and second Death Star, the surgery suite on board the Redemption, and the General's quarters atop of the Wizard's Tower on board the Invisible Hand.
  • The observation deck was an area of some starships. On Constitution-class ships, the observation deck overlooked the flight deck. In 2256, Ensign Logan was ordered to report to the observation deck aboard the USS Discovery. (DIS: "Lethe") In 2266, this location on the Constitution-class USS Enterprise was visited by Captain Kirk and Lenore Karidian, as Kirk conducted Lenore on a tour of the ship. (TOS: "The Conscience of the King" ) In 2268, the same Enterprise was detailed to transport delegates to the Babel Conference. A number of dignitaries lined the observation deck to see the reception of the Vulcan delegation. Later during that voyage, Ambassador Sarek made use of the observation deck for meditation. (TOS: "Journey to Babel" ) In the 26th century of an alternate timeline, an observation deck aboard the USS Enterprise-J had a large window that showed a view of space. When Temporal Agent Daniels brought 22nd century Starfleet Captain Jonathan Archer through time to the Enterprise-J during the Battle of Procyon V, the observation deck was where they met. (ENT: "Azati Prime")

  • Players can 'pay to play' Observation Deck from level 90 onward, where they can choose to pay with crystals (which will need to be bought with real money) to unlock the Picture early, rather than waiting until they reach level 92 and unlock it for free, through normal game play. Observation Deck was introduced during the Travel Time Update (July 2015). Observation Deck is a special item picture, which means that a set number of special items are needed in addition to energypoints for each play. The special items needed for Observation Deck are Tokens. The number of Tokens needed for each play of Observation Deck depends on the picture's scene progress level, starting at 5 Tokens per play at Trainee level and ending at 40 Tokens per play at Professor level. When Observation Deck was originally introduced, it formed part of the Travel Time Update's Time Sensitive Challenges. Players needed to reach Academician Level in Observation Deck before the timer ran out. For the duration of the timed challenges,Tokens are given as rewards for every successful investigation for every picture, as well as for banishing anomalies, but not for playing puzzles. Once the timed challenges are complete or when the timer runs out (whichever happens first), the Tokens can only be won in Crashed Plane and Mayan Temple. Tokens could not be gifted between Friends, however 5 Travel Time collections give them as rewards for combining. With the release of the Social Events Update, Observation Deck remained a regular special item picture, so now Tokens will always be needed, in addition to energy points, for each play of the picture. Tokens remain restricted to the Mayan Temple and Crashed Plane pictures, but can now be given as Free Gifts between Friends (like the other special items) for players who have updated to the Social Events Update. The collections that rewarded Tokens during the Travel Time Update have been changed so that they now reward other items from the game, so there are now no collections that reward Tokens in the Social Events Update version of the game. Note: players who have not updated to the Social Events update still cannot gift Tokens, but they can receive Tokens as gifts from players who have updated. From the Diary: Observation Deck is one of the 15 pictures in the game that does not reward any combining elements, but does reward collection items that require a large number of combining elements to combine.

They also mark their prices up 10 Rupees for each item, justifying this action with "Regional Pricing", though their prices on Red Potion and Arrows are more reasonable than those of Chudley's Fine Goods and Fancy Trinkets Emporium. It should be noted that the Goron who sells Lantern Oil will only sell it if Link has an Empty Bottle and will never fill Link's Lantern directly, unlike other merchants that sell the oil (as they will generally fill Link's Lantern directly if all his Bottles are full). When Hyrule Castle is enshrouded in the dark crystal barrier, the Goron who sells Link Arrows is found on the actual deck portion of the Observation Deck. He states, "Something is wrong with the castle, but no one knows. I must keep this a secret to everybody." This is clearly a reference to the Secret Moblin's quote from The Legend of Zelda. Interestingly, most of the Gorons working are children, and refer to the main Goron as "Father", marking this as the first potential appearance of a large Goron family. The Goron Merchants in the Observation Deck serves as place to purchase Red Potion and Arrows, at least until the Castle Town Branch of Malo Mart opens up after Malo purchases Chudley's Fine Goods and Fancy Trinkets Emporium using money donated by Link (and the rebuilding of the bridge connecting Eldin Province to Hyrule Castle Town with improves the flow of goods between Eldin Province and Hyrule Castle Town). However it is the only place in Hyrule Castle Town where Link can purchase Lantern Oil (provided he has an Empty Bottle).
