ShortSummary
  • Vic's time at the Barn seems to be running out, despite his work to help close the San Marcos murders. Billings' manipulations bring the tension between him and Dutch to a boil.
  • As Kavanaugh closes in on him, Vic resorts to some extreme measures in order to find his best friend's killer. Claudette finds herself under the political microscope as a result of the San Marcos murders. Meanwhile, Danny receives some interesting news.
  • Vic learns about his true status at the Barn from Hiatt. Shane gets involved with the daughter of an Armenian mob boss. Claudette begins to question Hiatt's loyalty.
  • Shane tries to get the upper strategic hand on Vic; the Strike Team works with and tries to keep the cover of an undercover agent when trying to find a perp.
  • Vic receives bad news about his career as he comes close to apprehending Lem's suspected killer, while the secret Shane is keeping continues to eat away at him. Ronnie works with Dutch and Billings on a case. Meanwhile, Dutch finds himself in an awkward predicament with Tina.
  • With the Barn grieving over the loss of one of their own, Vic's quest to find his friend's killer puts him in the crosshairs of Kavanaugh. Things don't seem to go smoothly for Claudette when she attempts to settle into her new role as Captain. Ronnie and Vic begin to worry about Shane's unusual behavior. Meanwhile, Dutch and Billings investigate a mass murder in San Marcos.

  • Season 6 was the final end for quite a lot of things in Doccccccccccccu. Twas the last season of the swinging 60s, it was the last season in B&W, it's the last season to feel the burn of the incinerator, but most importantly it was the last season for the GOATEST Doctor in the history of the franchise ever, Patty Tratty... of course, discounting his subsequent guest appearances in Seasons 10, 22 and in The Five Doctors, but whatever. Similarly, it was the final season for Freezer Hind Legs as Joomoo and Wendy Darling as arse.

  • Season 6 refers to the sixth and final season of Recess beginning on October 31, 2001 to November 5, 2001. The season ran short because the show hit its 65th episode, and due to Disney's rule regarding the number of episodes a show has, Recess ended. The season was not originally planned, but due to the success of Recess: School's Out in theaters, the show was renewed for one more season. The episodes of the season consisted of unused episodes of Season 5. Like season five, all of the episodes of the season have a 2000 copyright date, though the season premiered in 2001. They are considered the series' "Lost episodes". After this season aired, ABC noticed how high the ratings were for the reruns, and wanted to order more episodes for their 2002-03 season. However, Disney declined it in mid-production, leaving three of the episodes to be released direct-to-video as Recess: Taking the Fifth Grade. In the United Kingdom, this season was combined with the fifth season, possibly due to the fact that the episodes were leftover from season five. For unknown reasons, ABC and Disney Channel (In the US) did not include this season in their rerun rotation. The episodes did not appear on Toon Disney until 2006. Many fans believe this is due to Disney having issues locating the episode masters for the season.
  • The sixth season began airing on September 4, 1994 with the first episode, "Bart of Darkness" and ended on May 21, 1995 with "Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part One)", which is also the series' only two part episode and the concluding part would air the season premiere of the succeeding season. David Mirkin was the show runner throughout the season as well as the preceding season. The season had two holdovers from season 5, "Bart of Darkness" and "Lisa's Rival", to air at Season 6 when production had been delayed due to the 1994 Northridge earthquake, losing one month of production time. Matt Groening requested a controversial decision to have him uncredited in the episode, "A Star is Burns" as he seemed that it was blatant advertising with a character from a short-lived ABC/FOX animated series, Jay Sherman, becoming a film judge in the episode. The sixth season won one Emmy Award, and received three other nominations. "Lisa's Wedding" won the Emmy for "Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming One Hour or Less). Alf Clausen was nominated for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Music Composition for a Series (Dramatic Underscore)" for "Treehouse of Horror V", while he and John Swartzwelder were nominated for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Music and Lyrics" for the Stonecutters' song "We Do" in the episode "Homer the Great". Finally, "Bart vs. Australia" was nominated for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Sound Mixing for a Comedy Series or a Special". All 25 episodes of Season 6 including extras were released on DVD on August 16, 2005 in Region 1, October 17, 2005 in Region 2 and September 24, 2005 in Region 4. The sixth season also commenced a "clam-shell" packaging design that had a boxset with a Simpsons character head as a limited alternative to the regular DVD boxset, beginning with Homer's head in this season, to much criticism.

The main title sequence was slightly changed and was made black and white, along with a slow piano version of the main theme. The show got two new writers replacing all the other ones, Joe Iliketokilloffcharacters and Jim Iliketomakefansmad. Joe liked to make fans mad and Jim liked to kill off characters. After this major change, the opening sequence was changed when Season 7 started. This is the first season to have less than the habitual 24 episodes (Season Four doesn't count because it was shortened following the Writers' Strike). In the United Kingdom, the series began airing on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD on October 4, 2009, two weeks behind the North American broadcast. Season 6 was fairly well critically received scoring 77 on Metacritic.[7]

  • Season 6 featured the first ever UNIT story, The Invasion, which showcased the return of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. It also featured the first official appearance of Time Lords and the Doctor's home planet (as yet unnamed). (Another member of Susan and the Doctor's race, the Monk, had appeared previously, but without much elaboration and without using the term "Time Lord".) It also marked the end of the black-and-white era and the tenure of Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor. It consisted of seven serials and forty-four episodes, including two epic-length storylines: the eight episodes of The Invasion and the ten-episode The War Games. This season is fortunately more complete than the previous three seasons, of which only five serials exist. Seven episodes from this season are lost, although audio recordings remain for all; as a result, the DVD release of The Invasion uses animation to recreate the two missing episodes from that story. Season 6 is also the last season of Doctor Who to contain missing episodes, with all subsequent seasons affected by the then-in effect junking policy restored through various means.

  • The 6th season of American Idol premiered on the Fox Broadcasting Company on January 16, 2007 and ran until May 23, 2007. Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson returned to judge once again, and Ryan Seacrest returned as host. Jordin Sparks won the competition with Blake Lewis as the first runner-up and Melinda Doolittle finishing third. At 17, Sparks was the youngest winner in the show's history (Scotty McCreery, the season 10 winner, is the second youngest). This season also attracted a lot of attention because of a scandel involving sexy photos posted on the Internet of contestant Antonella Barba, who didn't make the top 12 despite making it all the way through the semifinals. Fellow contestant Sanjaya Malakar also attracted attention due to the support he received from the anti-Idol website Vote For The Worst, which encouraged people to vote for him despite poor song choices and frequent criticisms from the judges, who constantly called him out on his bad performances. Even radio shock jock Howard Stern pledged his support to Malakar, who ended up finishing in 7th place that season, higher then what others had predicted. This season is also notable because people who competed during this time tried out for the show again in later seasons such as Rachel Zevita, who went on to make the top 24 during season 10, Pia Toscano, who finished in 9th place during season 10, and Baylie Brown, who auditioned for season 11 and made it to the top 25 that season.
  • Can it be the Gilmore Girls if the Gilmore girls aren't together? At the end of Season 5, Rory dropped out of Yale and moved into Emily and Richard's pool house -- decisions that broke Lorelai's heart. That's handy, because one half of that heart can be deliriously happy with the big new step in her love affair with Luke. Meanwhile, the other half grieves and it seems everyone in town wants mother and daughter to reunite. But it may take an unexpected out-of-towner to make it happen. Of course there's much more: Lane gets a surprise that leaves her reeling with joy while Luke gets a surprise that may send the Luke-and-Lorelai relationship reeling.
  • Ted proves a point to the group by calling up his old friend Punchy, which causes him to impulsively show up in New York. Later, he asks Ted to be his best man at the wedding. Seemingly, this is the wedding shown at the beginning of season six, where Ted must give his speech. However, since then, Robin has asked Ted to be her best man whenever she gets married. Ted and the gang have Thanksgiving dinner at Zoey's house, and Ted and Zoey become friends, though they struggle with their feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Robin gets a new job at World Wide News, reunited with her former annoying co-host, Sandy Rivers. Marshall suspects that he is the reason Lily can't get pregnant after meeting a fertility doctor who also happens to be Barney's doppelganger. He learns that he is completely fertile and is overjoyed, but moments later receives bad news that his father has died of a heart attack. The gang tries to support Marshall, and Lily tries to help his mom during Marshall's father's funeral, but Marshall becomes preoccupied when he discovers that he has one final voicemail message from him. Barney calls his mom and tells her that he is finally ready to meet his real dad. Ted reveals that he is in love with Zoey, but since Zoey is married, he breaks off his friendship with her. Zoey is also in love with Ted, and is getting a divorce from her husband. Since both don't know how the other person feels, Marshall tells each of them about their feelings, and Ted about Zoey's divorce, and they kiss. This season, Barney meets one of Robin's friends, Nora (Nazanin Boniadi). He likes her right away, although he does not notice it when he tries to sweet-talk her pretending to be a romantic. However, the next day they play laser tag and he begins to like her even more but is reluctant to admit it. He begins dating her when the group (especially Robin) urges him to. Yet, when he actually almost begins to love her, he ends their relationship by lying about his feelings. Barney then wants to fix the relationship, but is too scared to, when he realizes that he does actually want to settle down one day in the future. Barney finally meets his dad (John Lithgow), but is disappointed to see that his dad is not what he expected him to be. Marshall wants to quit GNB. Lily supports him with that decision, this makes Marshall unemployed. Marshall and Ted decide to help The Arcadian and are against Barney. Finally Ted decides to testify against Zoey's cause and they break up. In the season finale, Lily finds out that she is pregnant. Ted runs into Zoey and she wants to get back together, but Robin and Barney convince Ted not to get back together with her. Barney runs into Nora and asks her for coffee as Robin watches from behind, seemingly appearing as if she has feelings for Barney. The last scene is of the future wedding, shown in the first episode of the season, and it turns out to be Barney's. This leaves the viewers with one big question: Who is Barney Stinson marrying?

  • Season 6 premiered on September 29, 2013. It picked up after the cliffhanger of Red John's Rules. The Mentalist tells the story of Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation. He also makes frequent use of his mentalist abilities to lead witnesses or offenders into offering the actual facts of the case, as known only to them. Within the Bureau, Patrick Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. Patrick Jane's role in cracking a series of tough high-profile cases is greatly valued by his fellow agents. However, no-nonsense Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon openly resists having Patrick Jane in her unit and alternates between reluctantly acknowledging Patrick Jane's usefulness and blasting him for his theatrics, narcissism and dangerous lack of boundaries. Lisbon's team includes agents Kimball Cho, Wayne Rigsby and rookie member Grace Van Pelt, who all think Patrick Jane is a loose cannon but admire his charm and knack for clearing cases. Season six commences following last season's cliffhanger; the first eight episodes focusing on Jane's search for Red John. During this time a secret association of law enforcement officials, dubbed the "Blake Association" is brought to light and the CBI is closed down. In the eponymous episode ("Red John"), Jane exacts his revenge on his wife and daughter's killer. The show then resets mid-season; two years pass and Lisbon nows works as a local police chief in Washington, while Cho joins Dennis Abbott's FBI unit in Texas. Wayne and Grace Rigsby, meanwhile, stay behind in California to run their own private investigative firm. Jane is then enticed back to the United States after spending two years on a foreign island by the FBI. He joins Abbott's team as a consultant, along with by-the-book agent Kim Fischer and analyst Jason Wylie. Lisbon also becomes an FBI agent. The rest of the season explores Jane and Lisbon's relationship; Jane confesses his love to her in the season finale.

The "flash-sideways" presents events as they would have happened if there were no crash and major events in their lives had happened differently. This "flash-sideways" timeline cannot be truly said to be a flash-sideways, a flashback or a flash-forward. It exists outside of time as we know it and serves as a limbo or temporal afterlife until the characters are ready to continue their journey together.
