Sisko sieht in seiner Vision das Gesicht einer Frau im Sand von Tyree. Nachdem Jake ein Foto der Frau findet, stellt sich im Gespräch mit Joseph heraus, dass es sich dabei um seine leibliche Mutter Sarah handelt. Sisko reist mit seinem Vater, seinem Sohn und Ezri Dax zu dem Planeten. Sie begeben sich dort wie in seiner Vision auf die Suche und Benjamin fängt an der Stelle zu graben an, an der Ezri seinen Baseball ohne darauf zu achten, was sie tut, hinwirft. Sisko findet den Drehkörper des Abgesandten im Sand vergraben. Er will den Drehkörper öffnen, aber die Pah-Geister wollen dies verhindern und schicken Sisko eine falsche Vision. Diese Vision sorgt dafür, dass er den Drehkörper wieder vergräbt. Aber schließlich widersteht er der Vision und öffnet den Drehkörper. Er befreit damit die Propheten und sorgt dafür, dass das Wurmloch sich wieder öffnet. Der Pah-Geist wird dabei aus dem Wurmloch vertrieben. (DS9: , )

After unearthing the orb, Sisko opened its casing and released another Prophet, one who, decades earlier, had inhabited Sarah Sisko, in order to guide her to marry Joseph Sisko and, in turn, give birth to Benjamin Sisko. This Prophet had been lying in wait within the Orb of the Emissary until released by the Emissary of the Prophets so that it could return to the Bajoran wormhole and destroy the Pah-wraith that had entered it. (DS9: "Image in the Sand", "Shadows and Symbols") Tyree seems likely to be proximate to Earth and more familiar among Federation citizens, since Captain Sisko casually mentions the planet, obviously expecting Jake and his father to know it. Tyree is also the name of Captain Kirk's friend from the planet Neural in the Original Series episode "A Private Little War" . In the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion, Ira Steven Behr stated that the origin of the planet's name did not come from Michael Witney's character, but from Richard Harris' character of Captain Benjamin Tyreen in Sam Peckinpah's film Major Dundee.
