  • The Tank, usually called the Basic Tank, is the first variation of the units that the player will have once they start a game. It possesses one Barrel which shoots one Bullet at a time in a straight path, with slight recoil. At level one, with no upgrades, it has 18.1 HP. At Level 15, four upgrade choices will be given to the player: The Twin, Sniper, Machine Gun and Flank Guard. At Level 30, the choice for the Smasher Upgrade will be available. Tanks are "meat shields", so to speak, putting themselves between monsters and the rest of the group. The other main roles in most groups are damage dealers and healers. Below is a primer for Veteran Rank Players on tanking, but any player of any level can follow it.

A good tank setup employs the use of extra capacitor recharging modules and skills, to provide a sustainable regeneration cycle that can run for tens of minutes, and in some extreme cases, indefinitely. Spare slots can be filled with extra hit point modules (extenders/plates), additional hardener damage types, and more capacitor charging. Since the sustainability of the regeneration is the key factor in a good tank setup, such fitting often incorporate weapons a class below the normal fitting for that ship type (i.e. Frigate weapons on Cruisers, Crusier weapons on Battleships), allowing more of the Grid/CPU to be given over to tank modules, and a signficantly lower weapon capacitor use. This in turn means a much longer time-to-kill, but the tank setup allows the ship to survive a similarly longer time in close combat assault.
