Series 5 saw the departure of Jody Latham's character Lip Gallagher and another addition to Frank and Monica's brood.

Four episodes have been produced, and will feature a crossover with Bratz and Dennis The Menace. The fifth series will follow life continuing in Henry's world, with the only change is, that, Henry has left for France, with his mum and dad for two years. This series will also show, Peter living at home with Prissy Polly, being the main character of the show, and Henry's friends justifying to life without him.

- The Fifth Series of Skins originally aired on E4 from January 27, 2011 to March 17, 2011.This is the first series not to feature the main cast from Series 3 and Series 4, as they were entirely replaced for Series 5. Series 5 introduces the "third generation" of characters, which are featured in both Series 5 and Series 6. In terms of the show's continuity, Series 5 begins 3 to 4 months after the end of "Everyone" (episode 4.08), as a new academic school year has already been in session for three weeks.

There were 24 different figures in the series. The figures were molded from a hard plastic, in contrast to the soft plastic of the majority of the earlier figures. The figures were available in five main body colours - pale green, neon green, neon yellow, neoen red and neon orange. Like the Super Scary figures, these had painted details to create multiple colours. The points values were even higher than the previous Super Scary toys, ranging from 50 to 200 points. - Season 31 (Series 5 for plebians) began in 2010 with the premiere of the Eleventh Doctor. At the time, he was considered the greatest thing since sliced bread, mostly because he wasn't the Tenth Doctor and his companion was pure sex. It's also, hands down, the best series of NuWho. Moffat has yet to produce a series with high quality this consistently (season 36 comes pretty close though).
- BBC Series 5 is the fifth and final series of the highly popular drama/cult series, Merlin. It was officially commissioned by the BBC, due to popularity and anticipation. This was confirmed 24 July 2011 by Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps. Filming began on 12 March 2012 in Cardiff, Wales and Pierrefonds, France. 13 episodes have been ordered. The show will air on BBC One for the UK viewers, Network Ten for the Australian viewers, and on SyFy for US viewers.

The series was made with a view to airing the show in the US, so episodes were shortened to 25 minutes to allow for commercial breaks; and twenty-six episodes were commissioned to tie in with the American tradition of having "seasons", rather than the typical British "series" of six to eight episodes. Due to these changes, two episodes were written by different writers; the director's role was shared between four people; and not all of the secondary characters appear in each of the series' episodes. Series 5 also sees the first appearances of the Communist Resistance girls Denise Laroque and Louise; and the last appearance of Jack Haig (who died in the time between the fifth and sixth series) as Monsieur Roger LeClerc. The figures were available in five main body colours - pale green, neon green, neon yellow, neoen red and neon orange. The numbers of each figure continue where Super Scary left off. You could find the Super Creepies in packs of one, six or twelve. The six packs displayed two of the figures, keeping the remaining four hideen within the box. The twelve packs displayed all figures, and functions as a basic dispaly unit, described as a 'Creepy Castle' display case. Single figure packets, which still displayed Series 1 monster Tengu on the packaging, kept the monster secret within the bag, and included a relevant Battle Card. These monsters were the first not to be based on genuine myths and legends, but were instead enitrely invented. Each was given the name of an insect or arachnid, and designed to reflect that in a punning fashion. The top six monsters were all spiders, given 200 points. The boxes of the six and twelve packs bore the legend 'NEW Mutant Monster Bugs!' Six packs also stated that they had a 'Creepy Monster Spider inside,' while twelve packs had the humorous disclaimer 'Beware! Super Creepies inside!' The accompanying material claimed the mutant creatures had been created in the lab by one Dr Zechariah Wolfson.

Generally, Series 5 has been met with positive reaction from fans. However, there have been complaints. The first is the over-emphasis on Amber, as a good portion of the story focuses on her, especially after being in about half of Series 3 and less than half of Series 4. Series 5 saw a number of characters written out of the show, including Java, Siva, Mouse, and Mega in the finale. Pride, who had been in the show since Series 3 was killed off very early in Series 5. Besides appearing in the first and second episodes (in the half-hour format), he does not appear again until his death scene in the eighth episode. With Pride's death, no characters introduced in Series 3 appear in the show anymore (although it can be assumed that Luke, Andy, Tally, and Moz are still alive). Another complaint is of the new characters, particularly Gel, Darryl, and Lottie. Gel and Lottie are seen as new versions of Zandra and KC, while Darryl isn't given much to do after being Zoot's double. However, many praise Series 5 as it downplays the technology element present in Series 4. Although the creation of Cyber Zoot contradicts this to a point. It also seemed unbelievable that an A.I. like Cyber Zoot could be initially created on primitive computers by Ram in Liberty. The new characters of Slade and Ruby are generally liked as well. The costume designs would change as well. They seemed to be a fusion of the naturalistic looking ones from Series 3 and the more modern industrial ones from Series 4. Megan Alatini (Java) would wear a vest with her Techno costume to hide the fact she was pregnant during filming. Series 5 would feature music from The Spirit Symphony, an album composed by Raymond Thompson. This score has a somewhat celtic-like sound to it. Some of this music would be released on Tribe albums under different names.
