Emperor Karl Franz himself enters battle on the back of Deathclaw, his personal Griffon mount. As well as the Empire the High Elves also use Griffons as mounts. Many Griffon's dwell in the Annulii Mountains in Ulthuan, where they are far more colorful than the ones in the Old World, but equally as deadly. An example of this is Stormwing, a famous Griffon used as a mount by Eltharion the Grim.

  • The Griffon is much maligned by Imperial military commanders because its weapon lacks in range and firepower compared to the heavier artillery pieces and main battle tanks. After this, he retired from Robot Wars as his heavyweight robots took "too much time and money" to maintain, but competes to this day in the Antweight class. One of his antweights, Mini G, took design cues from Griffon, such as the four-bar lifter weapon. Steeples still owns the internals of Griffon, as well as its lifting arm, although the robot itself has now been disassembled.
