In the 20th century, stole electronic spares from HMS Seaspite, disguising himself as a naval officer, in order to create a device to make contact with the Sea Devils. Later, the Royal Navy was ordered by Private Secretary Walker to attack the hostile Sea Devil base. The Sea Devils captured HMS Seaspite, but additional naval reinforcements called in by Captain Hart took it back. (TV: The Sea Devils)
  • The Royal Navy was the primary armed force operated by The Royal Allegiance. Its role was to protect Allegiance planets, citizens, installations and territories from external threats, as well as to support expeditionary forces and carry them to their destinations and back. It was the largest and most powerful armed force in the Allegiance as well as the most expansive navy in the known galaxy. As the oldest of the armed forces it was known as the Senior Service.

  • The Royal Navy of the United Kingdom is the oldest of the British Armed forces, tracing its roots to the English navy established in the 16th century, and therefore known as the Senior Service. Upon the Restoration of Charles II in 1660, it became a national institution, instead of the king's navy, and was given its modern name. From the beginning of the 18th century until well into the 20th century, it was the most powerful navy in the world. Due to this historical prominence, it is common – even among non-Britons – to refer to it as "The Royal Navy" without qualification.
  • The Royal Navy is an armed force of the United Kingdom, responsible for the defense of the seas controlled by the UK and in other areas of contention the country is involved in. On December 12, 1949, one of the Royal Navy's battleships disappeared between Leeds and Cape Perry. (TXF: "Død Kalm")
  • Britain was engaged in a life and death struggle with Nazi Germany when the Japanese entered World War II. Completely unprepared in the Far East, the Royal Navy lost the Repulse and the Prince of Wales to an air attack, forcing the Royal Navy all the way back to Ceylon. The Royal Navy's fortunes were further dashed when Admiral Chuichi Nagumo launched a daring raid that sank the Hermes, ending all hope of any kind of offensive in the Indian Ocean.

  • The Royal Navy was the the naval component of the Kingdom of Hypori military. Along with their counterpart, the Royal Army, they were used in many wars by the Kingdom. At it's height, the navy commanded thousands of capitol ships, support and logistics vessels, fighters, transports, shuttles and gunships, etc.
  • UK- Royal Navy - British Empire. The UK has the most effective armor, the best support crews, a large variety of fast battleships, as well as the hardest hitting guns. However, UK guns lack a fast reload speed (due to the system used to class their gunners) and UK torpedoes are the slowest and have the shortest range (albeit high damage). Players gain access to battleships and heavy cruisers at lower levels than the other navies. UK aircraft are also the most durable in the game.
Kategorie:Stub

  • The Royal Navy was formally created as the national naval force of England in 1660, following the Restoration of King Charles II to the throne. It became the naval force of the Kingdom of Great Britain after the Union between England and Scotland in 1707 which merged the English Navy with the (much smaller) Royal Scots Navy, though the two began operating together from the time of the Union of the Crowns.

  • After Europe have fallen to the Chimera in 1950, the Royal Navy was tasked in defending the United Kingdom should the Chimera make an amphibious attack or invasion on the British Isles. However, on March 1950 the Royal Navy was mysteriously attacked while patrolling the English Channel during the night. Distress calls reported huge freak waves overwhelming the fleet, despite it being an otherwise calm sea. By morning, all 96 ships were found washed up on the coast of France. Only seventeen bodies were found, all of which are dead by suicide. Also, the ship's bilges were filled with a unidentified, but classified substance.

  • The Royal Navy is charged by the Crown with keeping peace in the Caribbean, protecting the shipping lanes, and most important (to most of them), capturing pirates. Unfortunately for the Crown, some Navy Officers aren't as honest as perhaps they should be. The Caribbean is as corrupt as it is beautiful, and it has proven easy to grow lax so far from home. Instead of protecting civilians, many Navy officials extort gold under the pretense of "taxes" and generally oppress anyone they think they can push around. Some officers and guards can be bribed –– others turn their heads when crimes are committed. Though their Black Guard counterparts are stronger, all Navy personnel are still formidable fighters and should be approached with great caution.

It was the world's most powerful navy at its time. Not long after the discovery of the New World and its potential riches, the Royal Navy was soon dispatched with its many ships across the sea to expand England's influence and to protect its citizens and merchants doing business in the Caribbean. The Royal Navy is a primary enemy in Pirates of the Caribbean Online and all of its units are identified by their red markings. Pirates venturing too close to a Navy soldier or ship will be subject to attack.

The Royal Navy is the second-largest navy in NATO in terms of the combined tonnage[dubious — see talk page] of its fleet.[1] Its global power projection capabilities are deemed second only to the United States Navy.[2] There are currently 91 commissioned ships in the Royal Navy, including aircraft carriers, submarines, mine counter-measures and patrol vessels. There are also the support vessels of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. The Royal Navy is a constituent component of the Naval Service, which also comprises the Royal Marines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and associated reserve forces under command. The Naval Service had 38,710 regular personnel as of November 2006.

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, its role for the 21st century has returned to focus on global expeditionary operations. The Royal Navy is a blue water navy and the second-largest navy of the NATO alliance, in terms of the combined displacement approx. 450,000 long tons (460,000 t) 950,000 long tons (970,000 t) including the Royal Fleet Auxiliary) after the United States Navy. there were 87 commissioned ships in the Royal Navy, including aircraft carriers, a helicopter carrier, landing platform docks, ballistic missile submarines, nuclear fleet submarines, guided missile destroyers, frigates, mine counter-measures and patrol vessels. 16 vessels of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) also contribute to the Royal Navy's order-of-battle. The Royal Navy's ability to project power globally is considered second only to the U.S. Navy. The Royal Navy maintains the United Kingdom's nuclear weapons. The Royal Navy is a constituent component of the Naval Service, which also comprises the Royal Marines, Royal Naval Reserve and Royal Marines Reserve. As of April 2009 the Royal Navy numbered approximately 39,100 Regular personnel of whom 7,500 were in the Royal Marines; in addition, there were 3,600 Volunteer Reserve personnel, giving a total of 42,700 personnel. The Royal Navy is also supported by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, a civilian logistical support fleet which is owned and operated by the Ministry of Defence as part of the British Merchant Navy. The RFA primarily serves to replenish Royal Navy warships at sea, but also augments the Royal Navy's amphibious warfare capabilities through its four Bay-class LSDs (Landing Ship Dock).

The English Navy had no defined moment of formation; it started out as a motley assortment of "King's ships" during the Middle Ages assembled only as needed and then dispersed, began to take shape as a standing navy during the 16th century, and became a regular establishment during the tumults of the 17th century. The Navy grew considerably during the global struggle with France that started in 1690 and culminated in the Napoleonic Wars, a time when the practice of fighting under sail was developed to its highest point.

Britain has known many great sailors such as Sir Francis Drape & Sir Walter Raeliegh (No Lies) & some even greater ones like the brave & down-right amazing Duke of Wellington (inventor of Wellingtons & Ugh Boots), and Nelson Mandella (aka Amiral Nelson, hero of the Battle of Trafalgar).

(VOY: "Year of Hell, Part II"; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) The Royal Navy continued to exist into the 22nd century when it may also have controlled at least two spacefaring ships, HMS New Zealand and HMS Lord Nelson. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder" ) Malcolm Reed's family came from a Naval background – the Reed men had been Navy men for generations, including Malcolm's grandfather who served as an ordnance officer, and great-uncle who served as chief engineer on HMS Clement. As a child Malcolm wished to serve in the Royal Navy but later found he had fear of water – this was a great disappointment to his father. Commander Charles Tucker referred to this naval history when he asked him to find out where they were, after being stranded in open space, in 2152. (ENT: "Silent Enemy", "Minefield", "Shuttlepod One") In 2154, Captain Jonathan Archer also referred to Reed's naval background, in particular its tradition of honor and service, when he suspected Reed of working against him. (ENT: "Affliction") The 24th century Federation Naval Patrol performed a similar duty to the Royal Navy within the United Federation of Planets. (VOY: "Thirty Days") According to several production background reference sources, the following Starfleet starships were named after historical Royal Navy vessels or commanders, * USS Eagle (Constitution-class) was named after British World War II aircraft carrier HMS Eagle. (The Making of Star Trek, pp. 164-165) * USS Endeavour (several classes) was named "in honor of British explorer James Cook's flagship and for NASA's shuttle Endeavour". (Star Trek Encyclopedia, 1999, p. 136) * USS Hood (several classes) was named for 18th century Admiral Viscount Samuel Hood after whom the ill-fated World War II British battle cruiser HMS Hood was also named. (Star Trek Fact Files, part 86, 1998) * USS Repulse (Excelsior-class) was "named for the British battle cruiser that fought in Earth's World War II." (Star Trek Encyclopedia, 1997, p. 407) The official march of the Royal Navy is "Heart of Oak".
