He seized Media in 550, went on to conquer Lydia, and his crowning success was the capture of Babylon. He was finally killed in battle against one of the tribes north of his Kingdom. God selected Cyrus to open the gates of Babylon and conquer Babylon, which Cyrus did in 539 BC. God did this for the sake of His people who are exiled there. God stirred up Cyrus to build a Temple in Jerusalem . Cyrus told the Jews that any of God's people among the inhabitants of the former Babylonian Empire may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the LORD . So through Cyrus a total of 42,360 persons returned to Judah along with 5,469 gold and silver items, livestock and donations . The actual construction of the Temple began in the second year of their arrival in Jerusalem. Cyrus is mentioned in the Bible's books of 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Isaiah and Daniel. A clay cylinder was found in Babylon called the "Cyrus Cylinder." It is full of inscriptions giving record of Cyrus' capture of Babylon, and tells how the captives of Babylon were returned to their homelands. This is in line with the decree Cyrus issued in 538 BC, allowing the Jews to return home to Jerusalem, as described in the Bible. The cylinder is now in the British Museum.

- Cyrus (played by Bernard Robichaud) is a recurring character in the series, beginning with the first episode. Cyrus' first encounter with the boys was in the first episode. He showed up at the park while Julian and Ricky were in jail, and moved himself into Julian's trailer. He began to intimidate the residents and run his own operations out of the park, until Julian evicted him upon his return. He then reappears in the classroom when Ricky is taking his grade 10 exam. He cheats by reading answers written on the back of Jacob Collins's neck. Ricky rats out Cyrus to the teacher and he and Jacob are ejected from the classroom. Later in the episode he finds Ricky and he has a shootout with the boys in the park to try to kill Ricky for stealing Lucy back and causing him to fail his Grade 10. Sam Losco is also there trying to kill J-Roc and Julian. In season four, he is the provider of masseurs for Julian's Rub 'N' Tug, unbeknownst to them. He shows up and demands his cut of the operation, and is ejected from the park by Randy this time, who doffs his tight pants and beats Cyrus up. Many of the events of season 5 revolve around Cyrus. He partners up with Ricky's friends Terry & Dennis in the procurement and sale of hash. Their entire stockpile is then stolen by Julian, and once Cyrus gets wind of this, they head to the park to get it back. But (after a massive shootout with Julian, Ricky, Bubbles, Trevor and Cory), Cyrus, Terry and Dennis end up being arrested due to their general incompetence and bad luck. Later that season, Cyrus and company are bailed out from jail by Jim and Randy, as it is Jim's insane hope that Cyrus will kill Ricky and Julian in an attempt to get even. This of course doesn't happen and Cyrus is again arrested and jailed. Cyrus finally reappears in the finale, released from jail, and attending Country Dirty Dancing at the Blandford Recreation Center. There he feigns innocence to gain admission against the 'no dicks' policy of the event, but ends up trying to steal money and dope from the boys. He fails as Jim's plan to have everyone arrested succeeds in short order. Cyrus's latest appearance was in the third installment in the Trailer Park boys films, in which he appeared at Ray's funeral at the dump. He appears there acting as Julian's friend, to which Julian clarifies that they aren't friends but business partners. Later in the film, Cyrus is waiting for Julian in Montreal to deliver many boxes of 'Drug Piss', which was stolen from the military for resale to people wanting to beat drug tests. Customers needing to pass a drug test can buy some "clean, military-grade" drug piss for "fifty to seventy bucks" and pass the drug screening. Sam Losco is living in Cyrus's trailer and helping him out for "free Kraft Dinner". Later in the film, Terry and Dennis rob Julian of the Drug Piss, under the influence of Cyrus.

After her vision Dot realized that Megabyte hadn't broken the security code to her organizer. She hacked into his systems and took back the file containing the PIDs. Dot then used a VidWindow to inform everyone in Silicon Tor that they had failed and claimed that Cyrus was in fact helping her side. Megabyte told Hack and Slash to take Cyrus to the PID extraction chamber, saying he needs a new shoe-shine droid. (Identity Crisis, Part 2) Cyrus worked as a lowly shoe-shine droid for Megabyte for a year until the virus had a new job for him. He was ordered to spread propaganda against Guardian Enzo. Most citizens of Mainframe seemed to believe this propaganda. The young Guardian continued to fight for the city and win Games. (To Mend and Defend) Cyrus stepped up his propaganda when he organized a 'Down with Enzo' demonstration. He gathered a small mob that became trapped in the Game while demonstrating against Enzo. They realized that Enzo and AndrAIa were their best hope to survive the Game. Cyrus was left with no choice but to help when accosted by AndrAIa. He rebooted as a Dick Dastardly-esque character, and drove a few vehicles in the Game. While attempting to survive, he managed to help Enzo by catapulting him onto the wing of the User's plane, then saved Enzo's life by catching him from a helicopter. After the Game ended Megabyte arrived to attack Enzo, he was unhappy with Cyrus' support for the young Guardian. Mouse's Ship flew by and dropped the last of a series of firewall senders. Enzo gave the command and the firewall activated. Just before it finished sealing off Giedi Prime, Hack and Slash grabbed Cyrus and quickly pulled him to their side as the wall closed. (Firewall) Megabyte ordered Cyrus' execution, but Slash was unable to commit such an evil act and could not bring himself to delete Cyrus. He rescued him just before he was squashed by the pounding block. Slash then released Cyrus, and allowed him to run away. When Cyrus reached the firewall on the border of Giedi Prime he couldn't get out. He eventually noticed Scuzzy outside the firewall, who was trying to locate Hexadecimal. Cyrus suggested they could help each other. Scuzzy did make it to Hexadecimal's prison cell, so it is possible he did help Cyrus escape. (Game Over) Cyrus was seen in the Algorithm Theatre, dancing with the chorus line of the Mainframe Strolling Players. (End Prog)

- The Cyrus was a starship assigned to the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations branch office on the planet Aldebaran III. In the year 2373, the Cyrus was disabled by chroniton torpedoes launched by a ship of an alternate universe's Tandaran Empire. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)
