  • A ship, or more properly 'ship (shorthand for relationship), is a romantic pairing between two or more characters. A fan of such a pairing is known as a shipper. Shippers are of the opinion that certain characters are romantically right for one another, and thus support the ship. A common ship in the Star Wars fandom, for instance, would be Han Solo/Leia. Shippers of this ship often write fanfiction entirely about Han and Leia being romantic, although sometimes it is merely background to the larger story of the fanfic.
  • A ship is your vessel for moving pirates and/or commodities, pillaging, foraging, and holding other events. The various decks and rooms of a ship have the props to access the ship duty puzzles, configuration, and management. Normally, the point in the game when a ship is acquired is near the mid-point of the game, as having a ship allows access to areas already visited and new areas which are fundamental to the next portion of the game. In the case of both II and III, acquiring the ship is a segue to quests which requires the Hero to travel all over the world to retrieve specific items.

  • Ship is a high-tech craft owned by Mouse, used for Net/Inter-System transport. Ship is fast-moving, difficult to detect, and agile; it can out-fly and outmaneuver any CPU or ABC aircraft. Capable of high altitude, it features two jet engines but no on-board weaponry, missiles or heavy armor, making it rather vulnerable in mid-air combat or dogfights. The intuitive aircraft runs on an unknown independent power source, not a System’s Operating Core as most vessels do. Variable Exhaust Nozzles can be seen, but how it achieves such thrust over long-distances or what fuel system it uses remains unexplained.
  • A ship was any large wind-powered vessel with sails rigged in a specific manner. In technical terms, a ship was a sailing vessel with a specific rig of at least three square-rigged masts and a full bowsprit; other types of vessel were also defined by their sailplan, e.g. barque, brigantine, etc. Large sailing vessels which are not ship rigged may be more appropriately called boats. • Pirate Ships in Tropico 2 are the main source of income for your island. Using ships is a central part of the gameplay and is required for several important activities. Pirate ships are sent out on cruises, the traditional activity of pirates, boarding other ships and taking treasure, cannons and captives. The ships are also used for raiding settlements, which bring unskilled captives back to your island. They are also used to capture skilled captives, and explore uncharted regions.
  • A ship is a single unit of the various ship types of AE. Ships are also referred to as UNITS. Ships are the moving component of the AE game. They range in size, speed, power, cost, and function. • Wood was an early construction material for ships. Shipmasters had the privilege of marrying two people since the days of wooden ships, according to James T. Kirk. (TOS: "Balance of Terror" ) On Earth, ships were the primary tools of the US Navy and Royal Navy, spanning several centuries. Seagoing ships continued to be used in a similar capacity by the Federation Naval Patrol well into the 24th century. (VOY: "Thirty Days") Once mankind began traveling to the stars, the specialized ships they used were known as starships. Still, the term "ship" was commonly applied to these craft as well.
  • A ship is a spacecraft that is commanded by a pod pilot. The pod is fitted into the ship and the pilot then has control of all systems. While some ships (like shuttles) are just large enough to carry the pod and a little cargo, other ships require a crew of thousands to maintain. In the Eve Chronicle Hands of a Killer], an Apocalypse-class battleship can have over 6,000 crew. All ships divided into different classes. Many of these classes have advanced versions that require extra training to use.
  • Ships and boats have developed alongside mankind. In major wars, and in day to day life, they have become an integral part of modern commercial and military systems. Fishing boats are used by millions of fishermen throughout the world. Military forces operate highly sophisticated vessels to transport and support forces ashore. • Ship is the twelfth episode of Cybertron. It first aired in the United States on September 03, 2005 on Cartoon Network.
They were generally distinguished from boats based on size and cargo or passenger capacity. Ships were used on lakes, seas, and rivers for a variety of activities, such as the transport of people or goods, fishing, public safety, and warfare. Ships like the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman were valuable for their supernatural abilities, while ships like the HMS Dauntless and HMS Endeavour were valuable with their power. Of all the ships he captured, Blackbeard kept the Queen Anne's Revenge because he thought it was the most elegant and grandest ship.

In 2151, the starship Enterprise NX-01 encountered the Akaali, a civilization which utilized a type of ship known as a clipper ship. (ENT: "Civilization") In the 2150s, San Francisco Bay was passed by several ships. (ENT: "Shadows of P'Jem", "Shockwave, Part II", "Regeneration", "First Flight", "Home") The floating bazaar on the Xanthan homeworld was a high traffic place of several types of ships. (ENT: "Rajiin") In 2293, Montgomery Scott bought a boat in anticipation of his retirement. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country) Rishon Uxbridge first met Kevin Uxbridge on a ship at sea when she was traveling with her parents. (TNG: "The Survivors" ) In the novelization of Star Trek, one of the reasons that Iowa was chosen as the construction site for the USS Enterprise was its proximity to shipping lanes along the Mississippi River – suggesting that, on Earth, maritime activity was still alive and well in the 23rd century. As described in a stage direction from the final draft script of TOS: "Miri" , "pint-sized, one-kid sailboats" were to be visible (among other equipment) in the window of Biggs' toy store.

Navigators such as Zheng He spread such inventions as the compass and gunpowder. Ships have been used for such purposes as colonization and the slave trade, and have served scientific, cultural, and humanitarian needs. New crops that had come from the Americas via the European seafarers in the 16th century significantly contributed to the world's population growth. As Thor Heyerdahl demonstrated with his tiny craft the Kon-Tiki, it is possible to navigate long distances upon a simple log raft. From Mesolithic canoes to today's powerful nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, ships tell the history of human technological development.

  • A ship is an vessel that travels on water. In the Royal Navy there where several rates of ships * 1st rate First-rate was the designation used by the Royal Navy for its largest ships of the line, those mounting 100 guns or more on three gundecks. First-rate vessels carried over 800 crew and displaced in excess of 2,000 tons. In the original rating system from the 1670s, first-rates were ships of exactly 100 guns, but as time passed, ships were built with more guns, and they too were called first-rates. In addition to the rated number of guns (which were generally the heaviest calibre available), first-rates could mount a number of carronades to augment their short-range firepower. Although very powerful, first-rates tended to be slow and unhandy. For stability, the lowest gundeck had to be very close to the water, and in anything but calm water the gunports had to be kept closed, rendering the entire deck useless. Ships of this size were also extremely expensive to operate. As a result, the few first-rates (the Royal Navy had only five in 1794) were typically reserved as commanding admirals' flagships. * 2nd rate In the British Royal Navy, a Second-rate was a ship of the line mounting 90 to 98 guns on three gun decks. They were essentially smaller and hence cheaper versions of the three-decker First rates. Like the First rates, they fought in the centre of the line of battle, and unlike the First rates, which were considered too valuable to risk in distant stations, the Second rates often served overseas as flagships. They had a reputation for poor handling and slow sailing. Typically displacing around 2000 tons and carrying a crew of 750, the Second rates carried 32-pounder guns on the gundeck, with 18 pdrs instead of 24 pdrs on the middle deck, and 12 pdrs on the upper deck (rather than 18 or 24 prds on First rates). Both First and Second rates carried lighter guns or carronades on their forecastles and quarterdecks. The three-decker Second-rate was mainly a British type, and was not built by other European navies to any great degree. Apart from its unhandiness, in terms of sheer firepower it was matched or even over matched by the 80 and 74-gun two-decker Third-rates used by the French and Spanish navies instead. The additional deck did, however, give the second-rate an advantage in close combat, and it had the further tactical advantage of sometimes being mistaken by the enemy for a first-rate which could possibly make enemy commanders reluctant to press an attack. * 3rd rate In the British Royal Navy, a third-rate was a ship of the line mounting 64 to 80 guns, typically built with two gun decks (thus the related term two-decker). When the rating system was first established in the 1670s, the third rate was defined as 70 guns, with second-rates having 90 guns, and fourth-rates 54–60 guns. As time passed, and different ships were built with greater or fewer numbers of guns, the term was expanded to include the whole range from 64 to 80. They carried between 500 and 720 men. This designation became especially common because it included the 74-gun ship, which eventually came to be the most popular size of large ship for navies of several different nations. It was an easier ship to handle than a first or second rate ship, but still possessed enough firepower to potentially destroy any single opponent. It was also cheaper to operate. Although the rating system was only used by the Royal Navy, British authors might still use "third-rate" to speak of a French 74. By the end of the 18th century, the rating system had mostly fallen out of common use, ships of the line usually being characterized directly by their number of guns, the numbers even being used as the name of the type, as in "a squadron of three 74s". * 4th rate In the British Royal Navy, a fourth-rate was, during the first half of the 18th century, a ship of the line mounting from 46 up to 60 guns. While the number of guns stayed subsequently in the same range up until 1817, after 1756 the ships of 50 guns and below were considered too weak to stand in the line of battle, although the remaining 60-gun ships were still classed as fit to be ships of the line. However, the 50-gun ship continued to be used largely during the Seven Years' War, and during the time of the American Revolution a whole new group of 50-gun ships was constructed, not for the battle fleet, but to meet the needs of combat in the shallow waters off North America where the larger ships found it difficult to sail. But by the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, even this function was in retreat, and few 50s were built. The 60-gun ships were also dying out, superseded initially by the 64-gun third rates, although by 1793 there were still four 60-gun ships left in harbour service. The few 50s that remained were relegated to convoy escort, or as flagships on far-flung stations; a number were also converted to troopships, armed only "en flûte" (i.e., with most of the guns removed or stored below decks, to make more room for passengers or cargo). Some fourth rates did remain in active service even during the Napoleonic Wars, especially in the shallow North Sea, where the Royal Navy's main opponents were the Baltic powers and the Dutch, whose own fleet consisted mainly of 50 and 64 gun ships. However, HMS Leander, 50 guns, was with Horatio Nelson at the Battle of the Nile. As late as 1807, fourth rates were active in combat zones, illustrated by the fatal incident between HMS Leopard (50 guns), and the US frigate Chesapeake (38 guns), an incident which nearly led to war. * 5th rate Fifth rates where a type of friget.Fifth-rate ships served as fast scouts or independent cruisers and included a variety of gun arrangements. The Fifth rates of the 1750s generally carried a main battery of twenty-six 12-pounders, with six 6-pounders on the quarterdeck and forecastle (a few carried extra 6-pounders on the quarterdeck). Larger Fifth rates introduced during the late 1770s carried a main battery of twenty-six or twenty-eight 18-pounders, also with smaller guns (6-pounders or 9-pounders) on the quarterdeck and forecastle. Tonnage ranged from 700 to 1450 tons, with crews of 215 to 294 men. To be posted aboard a Fifth-rate ship was considered an attractive assignment. Fifth-raters were often assigned to interdict enemy shipping - meaning the prospect of prize money for the crew. Fifth rate frigates were considered useful for their combination of manoeuvrability and fire-power, which, in theory, would allow them to outmanoeuvre an enemy of greater force and run down one of lesser force. It was for this reason that frigates of this sort were commonly used in patrol and to disrupt enemy shipping lanes much as battlecruisers would later in history. 6th rate Sixth-rate was the designation used by the Royal Navy for small warships mounting between 20 and 24 nine-pounder guns on a single deck, sometimes with guns on the upper works and sometimes without. Sixth-rate ships typically had a crew of about 150 - 240 men, and measured between 450 and 550 tons. A 28-gun ship would have about 18 officers, including a captain, two lieutenants and the key warrant officers - the master, the Ship's surgeon, the purser, the gunner, the bosun and the carpenter - and four midshipmen. The rest of the men were the crew, or the 'lower deck'. They slept in hammocks and ate their simple meals at tables, sitting on wooden benches. Some were marines while in a strong crew the bulk of the rest were experienced seamen rated 'able' or 'ordinary'. In a weaker crew there would be a large proportion of 'landsmen', adults who were unused to the sea. The larger Sixth-rates were those of 28 guns (including four smaller guns mounted on the quarterdeck) and were classed as frigates. The smaller Sixth-rates with between 20 and 24 guns, still all ship-rigged and sometimes flush-decked vessels, were known as 'post-ships' because, being rated, they were still large enough to have a Post-Captain in command, instead of a Lieutenant or Commander. During the Napoleonic Wars, the by now elderly sixth-rate frigates was found to be too small for the duties expected of a fifth-rate frigate, and was phased out without replacement, although a few lasted in auxiliary roles until after 1815.
  • Ships are introduced in Catan: Seafarers and function similar to roads but may only be built on the sides of a sea hex. Vital for expansion as the only means to reach distant islands and are built with File:Lumber.png and File:Wool.png. Each player has a supply of 15 ships. In the Mayfair edition of Seafarers, ships have a base shaped like a flattened semicircle, as well as a semicircular sail.

  • Ship (also known as starship) is a type of space vehicle flown by a pilot in space sectors. Space travel may be undertaken by booking passage at a starport, but since the introduction of individual ships in the Jump to Lightspeed expansion, players are free to go wherever they wish in space (with limits), to engage in combat or do a little space mining. Players may fly starships for the Alliance, the Empire or for various Freelance groups, each of which has its own special starships available.

All ships come with a warp drive which can accelerate a ship to high velocities and allow them to travel across solar systems. Many ships also come fitted with module ports. These ports can be fitted with a variety of gear depending on the current mission of the ship. All ships divided into different classes. Many of these classes have advanced versions that require extra training to use. * Frigates * Assault Ships * Covert Ops Ships * Electronic Attack Ships * Interceptors * Stealth Bombers * Destroyers * Interdictors * Cruisers * Combat Recon Ships * Command Ships * Force Recon Ships * Heavy Assault Ships * Heavy Interdictors * Logistics Ships * Battlecruisers * Battleships * Black Ops Ships * Marauders * Carriers * Dreadnoughts * Titans * Industrial Ships * Transport Ships * Freighters * Jump Freighters * Mining Barges * Exhumers * Capital Industrial Ships

Because of these varied requirements, it is a good strategy to have a collection of different ships, as some are better used for certain tasks.

Ship was first seen extensively when Mouse rescued Bob and Dot from the terrorizing Gigabyte, as it was now the only vehicle unaffected by the prior power-down of Mainframe. They needed to dock in the Principal Office to meet with Phong; although the system administrator was reluctant to have Mouse inside, however using the aircraft's cockpit consoles she hacked through the Principal Office defenses. Ship was critical in their plan of securing a tear from the Energy Sea to defeat the Super Virus with. The rear catwalk lowered down so Mouse could place the tear into a containment grid while Dot kept the craft hovering steady. (Gigabyte) Immediately after the Web War, Megabyte and Hexadecimal betrayed the CPU forces. Dot and Mouse used this craft to quickly escape from the Hardware and raise the Principal Office's shields for the upcoming Viral Wars. (Web World Wars) During the Viral Wars Mouse and Phong devised an inverted firewall with Hue Branch to contain the virals away from Mainframe's populous. Hue's tech boys loaded the senders onto the Ship and Mouse programmed an auto-flight route around G-Prime and rigged an auto-trigger. Dot Matrix cautioned Mouse not to be spotted by the ABC fleet or else her vessel would be blown out of the sky; the hacker assured Dot she would not be seen until the firewall was activated. She flew Ship through one of the Principal Office's subterranean tunnels, emerging onto the city’s sector where two chutes extended from the center of Ship. The senders began sliding down the mechanical arms on alternating sides, before opening their parachutes and dropping towards the system's surface. (Firewall) During the Net War Ship was used to deploy firewall senders when Daemon’s viral Guardians breached Mainframe, Mouse flew the craft straight up vertically over the gap to the Net and temporarily sealed it. (Daemon Rising) Daemon managed to capture AndrAIa during the war and Mainframe captured Turbo in the same conflict. He informed Mouse that Ray Tracer was also infected by the Super Virus. In response Mouse and Matrix planned to rescue their friends or at least assassinate Daemon by flying Ship straight into the Super Computer. Their attack failed and Ship remained in the Super Computer for the remainder of the war.(What's Love Got To Do With It?)
