Once fired, the ball follows a straight line according to the vector it has been fired at and does not follow its target, allowing the target to evade it like any other projectile, such as bullets. Accuracy, speed and damage are all influenced by skill level.

Its low requirements make it a favourite attack spell of many mages. Explosion is a stronger version of this spell, while Iceball is its exact opposite. Both have their strengths, but don't manage to be as economical as the common Fireball.

• Fireball will destroy items on the floor, herbs, webs, and ice bridges. Using Fireball in the Animated Forest is not recommended as this will enrage all animated trees on the level. Fireball can be used to cook corpses and melt iron items into iron ingots. The corresponding item should be lying on the floor for this to happen and may need several castings to be affected.

• Vas Flam effectively gathers a great ball of flame, which may then be hurled at a foe. A simple spell, the great advantage of Vas Flam is that, aimed accurately, it will surely hit its mark and, just as surely, inflict damage. Combine common sulphurous ash and a single black pearl over a hot flame. When the ash has adhered well to the pearl, remove it and store it until needed. Cast the talisman at a foe while uttering "Vas Flam."
• Oh, source of all power,
• kagayaki moeru akaki honoo yo

• When beset upon by evil, the spellcaster has many offensive tools at his or her disposal. We have discussed some of the indirect magics such as Energy Fields, but there are times when more direct action is required. There is a class of missile spells for such occassions, of which the Fireball spell is the intermediate one. All such spells call for the use of the precious Black Pearl for its power in the launching of projectiles. In the case of the Fireball, Sulphurous Ash is also called for in equal proportion, for its powers of fire-flash are integral to the creation of flaming missiles. Speak the name of your enemy when the spell is cast and your aim shall be unerring and your enemy will be devastated by the flames of the magical fires.

Description
• This effect ends when Fireball or Frostfire Bolt critically strikes a target.
• Hurls a fiery ball that causes x Fire damage.
• Each time your Fireball or Frostfire Bolt fails to critically strike a target, those spells gain a stacking 5% increased critical strike chance.
• Hurls a fiery ball at a target dealing great damage.
• Launches a fiery projectile. It deals high fire damage on contact and moderate fire damage to any who enter the lingering flames.
• Fireball is an arcane offensive spell in ADOM. It allows the caster summon an cloud of flame around himself/herself, damaging all beings in the area. Fireball is the weakest and least expensive ball spell in the game, thus sharing the following common features: * Effective range is approximately a circle with the radius based on PC's Willpower * Attacking monsters with Fireball while invisible will betray the PC's location to them * Fireball will damage everything in its effective area including monsters in walls and outside the PC's line of sight A large number of enemies in ADOM are immune to fire damage, making Improved Fireball useless against them . Some monsters are, on the other hand, highly vulnerable to fire . Fireball is exceptionally powerful in the Frost Giant Jarl Caves. As any other fire spell Improved Fireball is suppressed in the Ice Queen Domain. Attempting to cast it will drain the usual spell cost but produce no effect except an extra message.

• Damage Fireball damage is dependent mainly on PC's level and slightly on spell proficiency . The exact formula is the following: max{3, [2 + L / 4]}d6 + L + PRadius Fireball radius is solely dependent on PC's Willpower . The exact formula is the following: max{2, [W / 8]} Only every even value signifies a different blast size. Radius value should be divided by 2 and rounded down — the resulting number corresponds to actual circle radius counting in level tiles. In practice, the observable increase in spell radius will first occur when the PC reaches Willpower score of 32. Every 16 more points of Willpower will trigger another increase. • This rune wasn't used much because it made low damage, but after the winter update 2007 it became premium and the level requirement changed from 17 to 27, it became more useful against monsters vulnerable to Fire Damage like Ancient Scarab. It also does not attack on multiple squares anymore.
• This rune doesn't do much damage.

• The fireball, called a fire box in Chip's Challenge 2, is a propeller-like monster in Chip's Challenge that functions similarly to the glider. It moves in a straight line until it hits any obstacle, and then turns right, left, or backwards, in that order of priority. Should everything be blocked, it will not move until it is released. Fireballs survive fire, but die in water and are subject to bombs. The following diagram illustrates these properties: The thin wall is to the west, which blocks the block from reaching the bomb. From where it is, the fireball is trapped until Chip releases the green button, at which point it will do one of three things, depending on the state of the water space: It will drown if the water is untouched, turn east to [2, 2] if it is dirt and thus drown in the water at the start, or continue to move 4D 3U repeatedly if the water and dirt are removed. During this time, if Chip removes a dirt space, the fireball can move in that direction, or if Chip hits the green button a second time, the fireball can be trapped at the start if it is located at [1, 1] or [1, 2] moving north, or it can move east onto [2, 3] and drown again. The way to complete this level is to sneak behind the fireball as it comes out, then remove the dirt on the left and reveal the hidden force floor. To avoid the fireball, move 3D R, then wait for the fireball to direct itself into the bomb.

• Fireball is a technique of Shūsuke Amagai's Zanpakutō, Raika.
• The Fireball is an enemy that appears in the Dimensional Vortex.
• Fireball is a monster who appears in the Dragon Quest game series.
• Throughout most of its appearances, the spell shoots off one or more fireballs at the enemy. These fireballs are capable of homing in on an enemy target, regardless of position on the battlefield. This spell tends to do weak damage, decreasing its usefulness as more powerful area-based spells are learned. In the PlayStation 2 remake version of Tales of Destiny, Fireball is not a target-based spell, instead shooting a single fireball along the ground for a short distance toward the direction Stahn Aileron is facing while casting the spell. If no enemy is close enough to be hit by the fireball, it simply disappears after reaching its range limit. It has the added effect of increasing physical attack power by 10% for 8 seconds, making it helpful early on, until Stahn gains access to Goushourai. However, Fireball has the additional ability to change into Flame Shoot if it is used while airborne, providing Stahn with a spam-able version of the same long-ranged homing abilities most characters with Fire Ball are capable of using. In Tales of Symphonia, Genis Sage can learn either Eruption or Flame Lance after mastering this spell, depending on his focus on "Technical" or "Strike" arte branches. This does not include Kratos Aurion or Zelos Wilder, who learn Eruption regardless. In Tales of Legendia, this spell can be learned by both Will Raynard and Shirley Fennes. It summons the three fireballs above the enemy's head and drops them at a quick speed, making it difficult to dodge. Shirley's version of the spell is much larger and stronger than Will's version, at the expense of a significantly increased TP cost. Shirley's version of the spell also has a pink hue, similar to most of the spells available to her, differentiating them from the spells cast by other characters. In Tales of Vesperia, the amount of fireballs can be increased based upon the total usage count, creating a maximum of ten fireballs. In Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2, Rowen J. Ilbert can release up to three more fireballs using the same magic crest from which he calls the first one using his "Arte Tuning" special ability. Similar to Indignation, the Japanese versions of the games with Fireball lists this spell with different katakana characters throughout the history of the series. Both the original Super Famicom version of Tales of Phantasia and the original PlayStation version of Tales of Destiny use (ファイアーボール Faiaabooru?) to represent this spell. All future port and remake versions of both games use the current (ファイアボール Faiabooru?) form, effectively retconning the original name. This name change can be attributed to the eight-character limit for all arte names in the early games of the series.
• Fireball is a recurring Fire-elemental spell that shoots a magically-created ball of fire. Although magically-generated, the fireball is a projectile, and subject to ordinary accuracy and evasion checks. However, firing the ball is not subject to throwing skill or ranged accuracy - the ball's movement vector is generated by the caster's intention, but inaccuracy increases with level. Once fired, the ball follows a straight line according to the vector it has been fired at and does not follow its target, allowing the target to evade it like any other projectile, such as bullets. Accuracy, speed and damage are all influenced by skill level.

• Fireball (Japanese: 火炎球ファイアー・ボール, Kanji translation: Fire Flame Ball, Romaji: faiā bōru) is the most popular offensive spell. It belongs to fire shamanistic magic. A ball of fire appears between the hands of the caster which can be thrown. The ball explodes upon contact, spreading flames. Caution is necessary when using this spell indoors or in forests because it affects a wide area. Being able to cast this spell is one of the criteria for a full-fledged mage. Lina Inverse is undoubtedly an expert of this spell. She developed several variations, such as a one-handed (or even a "one-fingered") version, a variant that bursts into countless tiny sparks upon the word "break", making it next to impossible to dodge, or a variant that enables the caster to shoot multiple smaller fireballs at once. She can also manipulate the spell so that the ball of flame blows up sooner or later than expected. As evidenced by comedy scenes, Fireball can be tuned back to an extent to cause only superficial damage. Casting it hurls a flaming sphere of destruction at the caster's foes, setting them ablaze. Lesser foes are instantly killed, while stronger ones retain serious injuries. Its low requirements make it a favourite attack spell of many mages. Explosion is a stronger version of this spell, while Iceball is its exact opposite. Both have their strengths, but don't manage to be as economical as the common Fireball.

However, some enemies can shoot fireballs without the use of a power-up. • A Fireball is a somewhat spherical mass of fire. Fireballs were among the most trivial of the powers available to the gods. Hera and Callisto were particularly fond of them, but any god could create them – for example neither Discord nor Aphrodite relied on fireballs regularly, but were both observed to use them. Powerful practitioners of magic, such as Nekros, Merlin, and Mab, could also use fireballs. Hera used a series of fireballs to destroy Hercules's home and kill Deianeira, Aeson, Klonus and Ilea (HTLJ "The Wrong Path"). Years later, she used one incapacitate Ares when she decided to join forces with Hercules.(XWP: "God Fearing Child") Upon ascending to godhood, Callisto's powers were generally fire-themed, and fireballs were her default weapon.(XWP: "A Necessary Evil", et al) During the final confrontation against Queen Mab, Merlin surprised Hercules by conjuring a fireball and using it to vanquish Mab with ease. Hercules's surprise had more to do Merlin's accuracy and competency (he was untrained at the time) than his ability, which was never in doubt.(HTLJ: "Once Upon a Future King") Also in a confrontation with Hercules, mortal witch Haleh used fireballs against him, although she was only able to do so because she was possessed by the spirit of Nekros, the first warlock, at the time.(HTLJ: "A Wicked Good Time) When Caligula, newly ascended to godhood thanks to Aphrodite's insanity, tried to defend himself against Xena, she pointed out that he had no chance, since she'd been killing gods for years and he couldn't even throw a fireball straight.(XWP: "The God You Know")

• In the Mario Kart series, Fireballs are used as special weapons. They could be either red or green, like Red Shells and Green Shells. In Super Mario Kart, Bowser would drop these items; touching them would make the driver spin out. Unlike other laid down items such as Banana Peels, however, they would move around a bit on the course, making them more hazardous. Fireballs reappeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, where they are the special item of both Mario and Luigi. When the special item is used, five fireballs will be launched into the racetrack, hitting other drivers and causing their karts to spin-out. These fireballs are capable of ricocheting off walls. However, after a short amount of time, the launched fireballs will fizzle out. In Mario Kart 7, the Fire Flower allows a player to throw fireballs at other drivers for a short period of time. These fireballs fizzle out quickly but retain the ability to ricochet off of walls. The Fire Flower returned in Mario Kart 8. Fireballs may also be present in games as stage hazards. In both Double Dash and Wii, Mechanical Bowser appears on Bowser's Castle and will shoot fireballs in a straight line on the track, forcing drivers to either dodge or get hit. The artificial Bowser may switch left and right to cover both sides of the track. Large versions of fireballs are launched from the sky in Mario Kart DS's Desert Hills and Mario Kart Wii's Grumble Volcano and burn upon contact with the ground, slipping out any player who is careless enough to drive through them.
• Fireball is a series of anime shorts depicting the antics of Robot Girl Drossel and her gigantic, one-eyed robotic servant Gedächtnis, who dwell in a mansion in the center of a huge robot city, somewhere in the 49th century. Later the duo is accompanied by Schadenfreude, a robotic monkey of sorts. Drossel looks like the robotized version of a pigtailed spoiled princess and pretty much behaves that way, complete with stylized poses. The discussions she has with Gedächtnis are generally nonsensical, with lots of emphasis on speed of delivery and flights of fancy, although occasionally they become more serious in tone. The series was produced by Toei in cooperation with Disney Studios and is notable for the usage of pure 3D imagery, in contrast with other anime where this is often blended with cel shading or other types of animation. A second season, subtitled Charming, aired in April 2011 as a Prequel. Don't confuse with Fireballs. Or Fire Ball. * After the End: Or is it before? * All CGI Cartoon * Animated Actors: The Making of Fireball DVD special has interviews with both Drossel and Gedächtnis' "actors" - Drossel is a cheerful Genki Girl who has trouble keeping quiet on set and doesn't always understand the script, while Gedächtnis is a gravel-throated Man of a Thousand Voices who hates filming and hadn't bothered reading the book Fireball is supposedly based on. * Art Evolution: Drossel and Gedächtnis have both received updated character designs in Charming -- Gedächtnis in particular is significantly more detailed. These may simply be examples of older hardware, however, considering that Charming is a prequel to Fireball. * Badass Cape: Drossel wears one in an episode of Charming. * Bolivian Army Ending: Implied in the last episode of the first season. Conspicuously, the second season is a prequel. * Book Ends: The first episode of Charming starts with a dream Drossel has of standing in a classroom, in front of a chalkboard cluttered with writing. In the last episode of Charming, the classroom and chalboard is seen again as a representation of Drossel's memory and loss of which as she wipes the chalkboard clean. More importantly, however, is Drossel's wiping away "Gedächtnis", and the first season's Running Gag of Drossel's inability to remember Gedächtnis' name. When Drossel mentions that this might happen, Gedächtnis laughs. The fool. * Breaking the Fourth Wall: Gedächtnis does this one time to disable the laugh track. * Quite literally. * Catch Phrase: "Incidentally, my name is Gedächtnis." In Charming: "M'lady, it's time for the ball." * Drop the Washtub * Dystopia: The imagery of the town gives that feel. * Everything's Better with Monkeys: Yes, even robotic ones. * Expressive Hair: In Charming, Drossel's "pigtails" have been replaced with a single articulated ponytail-like... thing. * It's kinda like a third leg attached to the back of her head. Creepy... * The Faceless: After Drossel has her Juno-XIII face taken off (to be refitted with the Juno-XIV), whatever was beneath is conspicuously not shown. * Flower Motifs: Blue Roses. Drossel gets one for her birthday. Apparently they are biohazardous. Also, the antiquated puppet representing human beings contain blue rose petals, and blue roses are components in Drossel's "bed"/stasis chamber. * Genre Savvy: At one point Drossel remembers having seen an anime. Gedächtnis also references anime in another episode. * Getting Crap Past the Radar: In episode 2 of Charming, Drossel makes an entrance by slowly sliding down metal poles and finishes it off with some stretching... * Glowing Mechanical Eyes: Drossel also has a flashlight feature in her eyes.. which renders her unable to see. * Gratuitous English: The game board robot in Charming episode 9 says "WOULD YOU PLAY A GAME?" * Gratuitous German * Hurricane of Puns * Hartman Hips: Charming Drossel (AKA Juno-XIII) design sports these. * Keigo: Gedächtnis speaks in this fashion, to underline his butler-like persona. * Laugh Track: One starts playing in one episode, much to Drossel's dismay. * Lonely Rich Kid: At times Drossel gives that impression. * Meaningful Name: Gedächtnis is German for "memory". Schadenfreude is German for ... Schadenfreude. * Meido: The mansion apparently has thousands, but they are all invisible. * My Name Is Not Durwood: See the Running Gag about Gedächtnis' name. * Necktie Headband: Gedächtnis during the "flower viewing" in the Charming finale. He does not appear to be drunk otherwise. * Not So Stoic: Gedächtnis actually screams aloud when Drossel shows him that the human vehicle has "Warning" written on it. * Ojou: Drossel. And how! * Once Per Episode: See the Running Gag about Gedächtnis' name. * Overly Long Name: The 19th Lord of Uranos' Kingdom's Tempest Domain, Drossel Juno Vierzehntes Heizregister Fürstin von Flügel. * AKA Juno-XIV. * Rapid-Fire Comedy * Ridiculously-Human Robots: Despite being a robot, Drossel appararently has a (deceased) father. She also has some human quirks, like arrogance. * Robot Girl: Drossel, but no effort has been made to make her humanly cute. * Running Gag: * Every episode, Drossel summons Gedächtnis using the wrong name. Gedächtnis reminds her of his correct name only for her to tell him to not interrupt her and then use the same or a new wrong name. * * Also, Drossel referring to her obvious capoeira movements as "karate". * Seinfeldian Conversation: Quite. * Shout-Out: Several, but most notably to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. * Most of the alternative names for Gedächtnis that Drossel comes up with also qualify. * Let's not forget about the reference to Hitch Hikers Guide to The Galaxy while discussing dolphins (i.e. humans are number 3 on the intelligence scale). * The training program in Charming episode 2 is a reference to the one Paul Atreides undergoes in Dune. * In episode 8 of Charming, Gedächtnis claims that if she so chooses, Drossel can reverse the earth's rotation to turn back time. * The human-puppet throwing the Vulcan Salute ("peace and prosperity") in the Charming finale. Maybe the Charming Mankind did show up for the Ball. * Drossel starts humming Daisy Bell as she is being prepared for stasis at the end of Charming. * On meeting a human in Charming ep 1, Drossel holds out her hand as if for a handshake, then uses the Curwen hand gestures from the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind. * Drossel's eye beams from episode 1 are reminiscent of Astro Boy's eye beams, right down to being a gift from her father. * Time Skip: Years and years pass between each episode. It doesn't affect much. * Title Drop: In the first season, "Fireball" refers to a plan devised by Windstille regarding the war with mankind. In the second season, "Charming" refers to the stage of mankind that will be devoid of senseless warmongering. * Widget Series: Maybe not as weird as some, but still quite... out there.

• Fireball is a minor character in the 1964 Rankin/Bass television special, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. A yearling buck, Fireball attempts to befriend the title character before the start of the "reindeer games." Shortly after introducing himself to Rudolph, Fireball playfully tells Rudolph (whose glowing red nose is hidden by a false nose) of the attention he immediately receives at a distance from Clarice, a yearling doe. Told by Clarice that he was "cute," Rudolph is overcome with joy and leaps into the air, flying farther and faster than any other yearling in the reindeer games. A playful tussle with Fireball ensues and the false nose that has hidden Rudolph's unusual nose falls off, causing the terrified Fireball to recoil in fear at the sight and ending their friendship. When he, the other yearling bucks and coach Comet recover from the initial shock, the group led by Fireball mercilessly torment Rudolph by calling him names, ending with Comet's proclamation that Rudolph is being banned from reindeer games. Upon Rudolph's return to Santa's workshop later in the special, he is met by three other young bucks, one of whom loudly proclaims the return of "Old Neon-Nose;" though not named, it may be presumed to be Fireball since he was the only buck that age with whom Rudolph had made contact both before and immediately after the false nose incident, but he has a different voice than Fireball. It may also be presumed that Fireball is among the group of young bucks inside the workshop who cheer Rudolph for saving Christmas by lighting the front of the sleigh through the foggy weather ahead. The voices of all of the jeering reindeer were provided by voice actor Alfie Scopp.
