- The Manticore is one of the wizarding world's most dangerous creatures.
- Manticores are a new slayer monster made available after Dark Lord's Ascent. They can be found in the cavern where the player defeats the bull manticore at the end of the quest. To slay a manticore requires 76 Slayer. They can be assigned by Duradel/Lapalok, Kuradal and Catolax. The manticores in the dungeon are weaker than the bull manticore. They are only level 191 and only use three of the bull's attacks - the melee claw swipe, the poisonous spit and the super poisonous sting. The max hits of these are also much less - 200, 50 and 20 for the actual damage and 300 and 500 for the poison. However, the special anti-poison potion is needed for slaying these manticores. Manticores will always drop bones and have similar drops to many other high level slayer monsters - including elite clue scrolls. The unique drop of the manticore is, of course, the large crystal seed used to create the crystal torso.

The manticore can attack an individual ally, use a howling attack that targets everyone, or roar to induce fear in an ally.
- Each Manticore Missile is divided into five components: the fuse, control and guidance equipment, an electrical unit, an explosive warhead and the missile's propellant tank. Each missile is powered by a two-part solid-fuel rocket that generates speeds of up to 300 metres per second once airborne. Due to the restrictions on the number of missiles available, Manticores are not as commonly seen on the battlefield as Basilisks. This means most artillery barrages are still fired by breach-loading artillery, though Imperial Guard commanders find the Manticore's flexibility very useful. Whilst extremely powerful, the Manticore is notoriously unpredictable. The temperamental Machine Spirit of this artillery vehicle must be continuously tended to by a group of the artillery battery's attendant Tech-priests. Otherwise, without the appropriate blessings, the Machine Spirit may be offended, resulting in rockets veering off-target or even failing to detonate. Unfortunately, it is more common for the Manticore's weapon system to simply jam and for its rockets to be unable to launch. In very rare circumstances, it has been recorded that Manticores have unintentionally fired their entire payload at once, resulting in the catastrophic destruction of entire Imperial units. Despite its unpredictability, Imperial Guard commanders are willing to gamble on the Manticore's fickle nature, knowing full well that the destructive capability of a single salvo is equivalent to the normal fire of an entire artillery battery. The Manticore can be equipped with several different types of missiles, including the standard Manticore Missiles, the anti-air Sky Eagle Rockets, and Storm Eagle Rockets. The vehicle is normally equipped with a forward hull-mounted Heavy Bolter, but it can also be equipped with a Heavy Flamer if needed. However he only gains the number of techniques readied, he must choose techniques from the new Manticore technique list located below. Manticores can take Monster techniques Marked with a (**), whenever they level up instead of having to wait to gain a monster technique. The Manticore uses whatever bonus the creature before it used to determine it's saving throws, however if it's strength score is higher than the normal relevant score, it uses it instead. In addition, the monster adds all of it's previous magichange techniques to it's new technique list below. Monster Weapon: Your attack takes the form of a Large Stinger that deals 1d8 damage. Everything else stays the same. Ability Boost The Manticore gains bonuses to it's Strength and Constitution score at levels 2, 6, and 10. The Manticore does not gain new ability bonuses from it's previous class. Damage Reduction At 5th, and 9th level the Manticore gains Damage Reduction overcome by nothing, This is due to the Manticore's powerful and dense body. Natural Armor At levels 3, 6, and 9 the Manticore's Natural armor increases. Fly speed increase At 5th level the Manticore's Flight speed increases. Manticore (Su) At 1st level, you return from your journey into darkness and you are reborn as a Manticore. Because of your strange mutations you only receive 1/2 of the benefits from resting for 1 week after obtaining this level. At first level you must choose to gain resistance to fire or frost, Depending on the element you choose, you add the spells from it's respective domain to your list of techniques. Whichever you choose, you gain resistance 5. You also gain resistance 5 to Acid. In addition you gain 1d6 acid damage on your normal attacks. Your reach increases by 5 feet and With a snap of its tail, a manticore can loose a volley of four spikes as a standard action (make an attack roll for each spike). This attack has a range of 180 feet with no range increment. All targets must be within 30 feet of each other, This deals your normal damage. This can be done once per day for every 3 Manticore levels you possess. Nue (Su) At 3rd level your mutation becomes more evident and you gain a greater number of monstrous abilities. You are sickened for one week after you obtain this level as your body adjusts to it's freakish transformation. Your Energy resistances chosen at 1st level both increase by 5. You also gain the ability to make a full attack on a charge attack. This can be done a number of times per day equal to 3+your constitution modifier. Finally, you become immune to poison and you gain a poison attack. The Poison is injury based and the Save DC is 10+Manticore level+ Strength modifier. Once per round for 6 rounds the creature must make the save or take 1d4 strength damage. 2 successful saves in a row ends the poison effect. This can be used a number of times per day equal to 3+your constitution modifier. Myrmecoleo (Su) At 4th level the Manticore has reached a turning point in it's transformation, it is no longer effected badly by it's mutations and gains even more great abilities. The Manticore's resistances increase by 5 again and it's reach increases by 5 feet as well. It gains a burrow speed equal to it's land speed and the Manticore is constantly under the effects of a Mind Blank spell. This cannot be dispelled but it can be suppressed. It is suppressed for 3d6 rounds if dispelled. Chimera (Su) At 7th level the Manticore's mutations bring it to new heights allowing it immense power. The Manticore gains immunity to it's two elemental resistances. - Manticore (マンティコア Mantikoa) is a Phantom born from within a fortune teller when he gave up in despair. He was sent by Wiseman to targeting Kosuke Nitoh, an archeologist student. This Phantom has great combat capabilities to tie Kamen Rider Wizard on fight. He also has a poison sack in his tail which will slowly kill his enemies. However, in Manticore's first encounter with Kosuke, Haruto was nearby and guns down some Ghouls. Manticore then sends the remaining Ghouls to stop Haruto, but Haruto transforms into Kamen Rider Wizard and (after sending Kosuke away with help from Shunpei and Rinko) easily defeats the Ghouls. Unfortunately, Manticore used his tail, which is tipped with a poisonous stinger, and poisoned Haruto with it, giving more time for the Phantom to track down Kosuke. He then invited Kosuke to guess his fortune, before he attacks Kosuke. A bullheaded Haruto, still in pain due to Manticore's venom in his system, arrives to save Kosuke, but Kosuke tells him to stay back when Haruto is too hampered to even transform into Wizard, due to having used up all his Mana reserves to keep the venom at bay. Kosuke then transforms into Kamen Rider Beast to attack the incoming mob of Ghouls, and then devours their energy after destroying them. He then uses the Chameleo Mantle to become invisible and attack a disorientated Manticore. Enraged, Manticore keeps trying to strike the Rider and one of his attacks successfully poisons a distracted Beast when Haruto tries to warn him about the fact about Manticore's stinger, but Beast uses the Dolphi Mantle to cure himself and Haruto shortly afterwards. Finally, Kamen Rider Beast uses the Falco Mantle and overpowers the Phantom before defeating him with the Falco Saber Strike. After Manticore was defeated, Beast absorbed the Phantom's Mana for his own.

The stereotypes associated with manticores have caused most individuals to either keep to themselves, or live in almost complete isolation.
- The Manticore is a security protocol of the AI Melissa. It survived the Forerunner explosion that blew the different parts of Melissa apart. Along with the Manticore, another fragment of Melissa called the Sleeping Princess was blown back in time to 2004. Her and more fragments of Melissa crash landed on the ilovesbees.com server. It was here that the Sleeping Princess communicated the widow's story through corrupted image files that were taken and pieced together to create the narrative of The Widow's Journey. In the following excerpt from The Widow's Journey, The Sleeping Princess talks in a fairy tale type fashion and refers to real life characters by fairy tale names:

* Manticore: A security process with no known literal name that was destroyed by SPDR.
- The Manticore (in early middle Persian) is a Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian Sphinx. It has the body of a lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth similar to a shark, and a trumpet-like voice. Other aspects of the creature vary from story to story. It may be horned winged or both. The tail is either a dragon's or a scorpion's, and it may shoot poisonous spines to paralyze or kill it's prey. It devours its prey whole and leaves nothing behind.
- Like most Chaos creatures, Manticores are a vile mixture of beast and Human. Unlike many such beings, however, they are intelligent and speak the Dark Tongue of Chaos creatures. They are most common in the chaotic regions of the far north and south and, although very few actually lair within the boundaries of the Old World, individuals can travel great distances on their powerful wings and may appear almost anywhere. In combat, Manticores get one bite, two claws, and one tail-lash each round.
- The Manticore was the first disguise of Hot Dog Water. Designed after the mythical beast of the same name and springing forth from a phony haunted temple, it sought to drive guests away from the Fleach's family theme-park, Creepy Spooky Terror Land.
- Lonny Clay, code name Manticore, is a cyborg killing machine. He's under the delusion that the lab rats who created him actually care about his biological component. While he's really good at killing his targets, he's not too bright otherwise. His only appearance to date is a fight with the Green Witch and the Silver Ghost. It's unclear whether he survived it. If he didn't, there'll be another Manticore soon enough.
- Manticores are the vicious guardians of Elrit Forest.
- Manticore, called Caladbolg (カラドボルグ/Karadoborugu) in Japan, is a move used by Zafina. Its input is 1+2,4,4. The third strike knocks the opponent down. If the first strike is a counter hit, the opponent will immediately go into crumple stun.

- Manticores were a race of monstrous creatures (part-man, part-lion, and part-scorpion) who lived in the World of Narnia. These creatures have the body of a red lion, the tail of scorpion, and a human-like head with three rows of sharp teeth. Manticores are described to be very dangerous. They can use their scorpion tails to stab their enemies with their sharp points or shoot poisonous spines to either paralyze or kill their enemies.
