In het volgende planetaire jaar van Oby VI werden er meer dan 2.000 gevallen gemeld, waarvan de groei exponentioneel bleek te stijgen. Om de infectie te bestrijden ontwikkelde Dr. Nuress een unieke variant op het virus. Ze bombardeerde het virus namelijk met Eichner straling.
