  • Dryad is a character in Spellforce series, who appeared in SpellForce: Shadow of the Phoenix.
  • There are several classes of Dryads: * Meliai are dryads of ash trees. The ash-tree sisters tended the infant Zeus in Rhea's Cretan cave.Gaea gave birth to the Meliai after being made fertile by the blood of castrated Uranus. * Oreiades are nymphs that lived in mountains, valleys, and ravines. * Hamadryads are nymphs who are supernaturally long-lived and tied to their homes. They were an integral part of their trees, like if the tree dies, the hamadryads die.Of poplars and oak trees are linked to sacred groves. Epimeliad are nymphs who are protectors of the apple trees, sheep, and goats.Their hair was white, like apple blossoms or undying wool. They are also known to be guards of the tree that the golden fleece was kept on.
  • The Nymphs of the Woods. * They are considered aldryami. * The all-male Yellow Elves rely on them for reproduction. * The Brown Elves can reproduce with them but mostly reproduce with their own females. * The Green Elves do not reproduce with them. Sources: Guide to Glorantha, HeroQuest: Glorantha
  • The Hero found her while following and admiring the white stag. As he approached the oak, she told him about the evil harassing the forest. She requested from him a seed from the Spore-Spitting Spirea of the North to preserve the species. When the Hero brings her the seed, she gives him the recipe to the dispel potion and also gives him a magic acorn.
  • Dryads have a strong connection to plants, which they are very knowledgeable about, and Woodrue even uses his knowledge of plants to his advantage, for evil and sinister purposes.
  • Magilou conjures a cube of water and sends it into her target. This arte has a chance of inflicting the "Poison" status ailment.
  • Monster Rancher 2: This monster is a tree fairy. It inhabits in the forest.
  • Dryad is a city located within the Kingdom of Ralteague. Although Dryad is surrounded by mountains, it has become a major transportation hub. It is close to Lake Nilfas, where there have been sightings of water spirits that were thought extinct.
  • Dryad is monster #70 from the Series 2 figures. The figure was available in all four Series 2 neon colours, and had a points value of ten. The figure depicted the Dryad as a monstrous tree, and was also available as a glow-in-the-dark premium.
  • King Tycho was a Dryad .
  • Little is known
  • Dryads are a type of woodland creature found in Xanth.
  • Dryads are a race of nymphs closely associated with trees. Technically, Dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees (Greek drys signifies "oak"), though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general.
  • The standard Dryad fights by surrounding itself with a shield of leaves moving in a circular pattern that protect it from all damage and, after a short time, it will fire the leaves forward (much like Leaf Shield from Mega Man 2). Unlike most enemies, it is effected by the gravity changes in Iris Stage 2. Because of this effect, they act similar to the Suzy G enemies from Megaman 5. In Rosenkreuzstilette, it appears in the second stage of the Iris Palace, while in Freudenstachel, a sole Dryad appears in the Forest of God (Dolis's stage).
  • Dryads are tree nymphs in Greek Mythology. They are specifically the nymphs of oak trees, although the term "dryad" has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general. They were normally considered shy, except around the goddess Artemis, who was known to be a friend of most nymphs.

  • In the Anima d20 Campaign Setting, the dryad is a fictional creature. Resembling a genderless, green-skinned humanoid, dryads live in the ruins of human society in a fictional Earth.
  • The Dryad was the disguise of the Joker. He was attempting to scare the gang out of the woods so they wouldn't find his and Penguin's cave.
  • They are only dangerous in large numbers, and then only if threatened. Angered dryads have been known to crush attackers under tons of rose petals.
  • A dryad (or wood nymph) is a female spirit often associated with a certain tree.
  • Dryads are an Atlantean myth unit in Age of Mythology that can be created from the Hesperides God Power, available in the Heroic Age by worshipping Theia.
  • A plant species discovered on Lemuris that uses its leaves and stalks to achieve a measure of mobility. It usually achieves the size shown approximately one year after sprouting. If its living environment changes for the worse, it uses its unique "walking" ability to search for a better place to live. Emits a terrifying scream if dug out of the earth. __NOEDITSECTION__
  • The Dryad is a Champion unit from the Forest Box. It can use the (Magic) Summon Sapling ability. Using this ability costs 1 morale. Funnily enough, summoning a sapling gives the player 2 morale, for a net profit of 1 morale. The Dryad can be used effectively as a defender. The defended point will be replaced by a Sapling which can block further attacks towards other pieces, while the Dryad can still guard that Sapling. • The Dryad is an enemy found on planet Lemuris in Star Ocean: The Last Hope. It is one of the first enemies met on the planet, and thus, is very simple. However, whenever it digs itself under the earth, it will counter close-range attacks with an area attack that stuns.
  • The Dryads are a natural race, born from seeds as a result of Turmanar, the first cataclysm of the Shield of Azunai, and the Sword of Zaramoth. Ther appearance is similar to Elven women, though they have leaves for hair, sap runs through their veins, and their skin represents the colors of nature. The known hues for Dryads are orange, brown, and green. Since there are no Dryad males, it is unknown how Dryads reproduce, perhaps using nature magic to create seeds of which the Dryads are grown from. It is also noted that no Dryad adolescents or children have been seen or mentioned.
  • The dryads of ash trees were called the Meliai. The ash-tree sisters tended the infant Zeus in Rhea's Cretan cave. Gaea gave birth to the Meliai after being made fertile by the blood of castrated Uranus. Nymphs associated with apple trees were the Epimeliad, and those associated with walnut-trees were the Caryatids.
  • Dryads are plant-like humanoids. Gnarl referred to a dryad as a "plant-person".
  • The Dryad is a NPC (Non-playable character) that will move into an empty house once you've killed a "strong monster" or boss. The easiest bosses to kill would be the File:NPC Head Boss 0.png Eye of Cthulhu,File:NPC Head Boss 19.png Skeletron, or the File:NPC Head Boss 2.png Eater of Worlds. The Dryad reveals in conversation that she is 500 years old. She's one of six female NPCs, the other ones being the Nurse, the Steampunker, the Party Girl, the Stylist, and the Mechanic. The Dryad can tell you the percentage of Corruption/Crimson vs. Hallow in the world. She does not drop any items upon death.
  • The third monster belong to the Plant-type, and also the first one to have a rather different appearance from its predecessors. This monster has the ability to reduce the bonuses given by the Hyumas through its Stored Attack, which could turn into a problem if you're fighting against several enemies. Despite this, it shouldn't be very hard to defeat.
  • In Greek mythology, dryads were nymphs of oak trees. Nymphs were female nature spirits of various aspects of nature (others: oceanids [nymphs of oceans], nereids [nymphs of seas], naiads [nymphs of freshwater], oreads [nymphs of mountains]). Only in the 20th century did Dryads get reinterpreted to be tree spirits of all types of trees, not just oak trees. Dryads harmed any mortals who would kill trees in the forests or groves without making proper offerings. Meliae were the nymphs for ash trees, daphnaie were the nymphs for laurel trees, leuce were nymphs for white poplar trees and aigeiroi were nymphs for black poplar trees. Dryad is Greek for "of the tree" (feminine).

  • Dryads, as they appear in the Otter Island Multiverse, are faerie folk. They have trees as their physical bodies, but also have sapient spirits which are able to assume humanoid form and wander about performing most normal human activities. Unlike dryads of classic mythology, multiverse dryads can be either male or female. The tree portion of the dryad may be any kind of tree, whether deciduous, coniferous, or in rare instances, even succulent.
  • "Dryad" is an original Sweet ANN and MIRIAM song. It is featured in the Vocallective Records album, Songs of Gaia.
  • Dryads are tree spirits. For reasons unknown, all Dryads are female. They are often considered guardians, and will sometimes be bonded to a single tree, protecting and caring for it until death. They can be found in forest areas but are rarely encountered. They are gentle creatures not made for combat and are easily slain. Dryads are vulnerable to Charm Person, Charm Person or Mammal, Dire Charm, and Hold Person.
  • During the War of the Ring, an army of 90,000 Dryads came to aid the free nations of Middle-earth in the region of Rhovanion. While Sauron continued his role in attacking Gondor, the Dryads remained in Rhovanion to help prevent anymore Easterlings attacking the region.
  • Dryads are humanoid plant creatures made out of smooth, brown or green wood, and with hair that changes colour with the seasons. The youngest race to emerge in the Land of the Living, their existence, lifespan, exact numbers and any other information about them are presently unknown to other races who remain unaware of them for the time being. Dryads first came to the world in Survivor's Woods in Libaterra after the Battle of Survivor's Woods.
  • Few mortals make such a mistake twice, and then only if the individual in question is either very lucky or very swift. Dryads are able to shape-shift into different forms and often mimic the appearance of Elves. On such occasions, they appear as unearthly, lithe and beautiful maidens — albeit with a greenish hue to their skin and twigs in their long, cascading hair. It is in this form that the Dryads walk the bounds of Athel Loren. They are not choosy in their victims, preying on tree-killers, invaders and lost innocents with equal malice. The only sensible course of action when approached by such a creature is to flee as far and as fast as possible, but most potential victims find themselves enraptured by the Dryad’s comely form or beguiled by the haunting melodies of her otherworldly son
  • Dryads are tree spirits - magical beings that live in trees and can assume the aspect of of a particular tree or even shape-shift into the form of a tree at will. They are only found deep in the forests of the Old World, far from the cities and towns of humans. Dryads have a solid form with flesh like the green, pliable wood of a young sapling and skin like bark. Their hair tends to be either leafy or like moss or lichen. They are about twice the height of an average Wood Elf, standing about 11-12 feet tall. Wood Elves are careful to placate these spirits and knowledgeable Wood Elf mages may ask them for help.
  • Dryads are tree nymphs in Greek mythology. In Greek drys signifies 'oak,' from an Indo-European root *derew(o)- 'tree' or 'wood'. Thus dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees, though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general. "Such deities are very much overshadowed by the divine figures defined through poetry and cult," Walter Burkert remarked of Greek nature deities (Burkert 1986, p. 174). Normally considered to be very shy creatures, except around the goddess Artemis who was known to be a friend to most nymphs.
  • Dryad is the Mana Spirit of Wood. She appears as a tree, with leaves for hair and roots for feet. She is regarded as being the closest to the Mana Tree and the Mana Goddess, and her powers reflect this, with barriers that reflect magic spells, the ability to revive fallen party members, weapon enchantments that steal magic points, and granting temporary invincibility; for these powers, she is often regarded as the "Mana" or "Life" Elemental. However, she is also regarded as the "Wood", "Tree", or "Leaf" Elemental due to her powers of poison breath, flowers that put opponents to sleep, strangling vines, and other plant-related spells.
  • They look like normal, pretty, young girls. They wear clothes that make them hard to spot in the forest and paint their bodies to make themselves even less visible. They have skills unique to their race such as shaping trees with their will and moving without making any sounds. At night they create makeshift glowsticks by stimulating certain fungi and crafting a wreath out of the plant to make a light source, Dryads abhor fire as it harms the forest. They do not eat dinner, as Dandelion learns from Geralt upon his first night in Brokilon, whether this is out of strict dieting etiquette to maintain their health or otherwise is unknown.
  • Dryads are tree spirits. Because of their bonding to their particular tree, they can't roam too far from it or they'll wither and die. A dryad’s delicate features are much like a female elf’s, though her flesh is like bark or fine wood, and her hair is like a canopy of leaves that changes color with the seasons.
  • Dryads are fey-maidens who act as the protectors of forests and trees. They appear to be beautiful women with delicate features seemingly made of soft wood. Their hair appears to be made of leaves and foliage that changes color as the seasons change. During the spring and summer months, the hair of a dryad is lush and green, while during autumn it turns red and eventually brown in the winter. Dryads are generally benign, and will attempt to warn off intruders. Only those that seem cruel and determined to destroy a dryad’s forest will see the full wrath of these fey.
  • Dryads (also referred to as "Wood Nymphs", "Wood Gods", "Wood Goddesses", "Hamadryads", "Tree People", and "Silvans") were spirits of Narnian trees. They were able to assume physical bodies similar to human form, and the same size as normal humans, and they could go in and out of their trees like blossom petals.
  • Dryads are daughters of the demigod Cenarius. They monitor the health of Kalimdor’s forests, ever watchful against the depredations of evil magic. The creature has the head, arms, and torso of a beautiful night elf woman, but the lower body of a fawn. A gentle calm is evident in her eyes, but she hefts a spear with practiced skill. It doesn’t look like she wants to use the spear in her hand — but if she had to, she could. (MoM 22) (APG 206) __TOC__
  • They’re a type of elementals that dwell in trees, and they’re called “Demi-Elementals” since they where originally born as monsters. They nestle close to a single tree for their entire lives, and when the tree dries up, their lives end, but the trees they dwell in can keep living for thousands of years by continuing to suck spirit energy from men. Due to their rich Demon energy, they can protect themselves from searing flames and bad diseases that infect trees.
  • Dryad was raised by her father after her mother died. Her father is the famous mutant landscaper, Giancarlo Betto, whom Emma Frost credits for work all around the Xavier Institute. Being a mutant himself, he definitely supported his daughter when she showed signs of mutation, and was happy that his daughter shared his mutation. He trained her as best as he could, bringing them closer together as a result. Dryad was a member of the Corsairs, along with Specter, Quill and the Stepford Cuckoos, who leads the team. However, after Scarlet Witch's actions of M-Day, Dryad was depowered and boarded a bus with other depowered students leaving the Xavier Institute, after saying goodbye to Surge. She was killed when William Stryker fired a missile at the bus, blowing it up, killing the depowered stud
  • A dryad's delicate features are much like a female elf's, although her flesh is like bark or fine wood, and her hair is like a canopy of leaves that changes colour with the season, with large almond-shaped eyes. Dryads can speak Elven, Sylvan, and Common. Dryads are wild, mysterious entities, found deep in secluded woodlands such as the Tearwood. They defend the trees from any who would fell them and sometimes come into conflict with humans and others who take wood from the forests. Dryads have been known to charm adventurers into helping them defend their homes or hunting down the forest's enemies -- even if those enemies are human woodcutters.

Strategy
  • Knights can kill them from level 20 onwards, however they hit relatively hard and can be dangerous in numbers. That said, they are very good profit and exp for low leveled Knights. Paladin can run them with a spear and shield and using Light Healing to cancel out paralysis. Mages should run from them using their wand/rod and Flame Strike. Have a few Great Fireball runes on hand in-case you are attacked by 3 or more Dryad.
  • Low level Mages should run from them using their wand/rod and exori flam. Knights can kill them with no trouble from level 20 onwards. It is also very good profit and exp for low leveled Knights.
  • Low level Mages should run from them using their wand/rod. Knights can kill them with no trouble from level 20 onwards.

She requested from him a seed from the Spore-Spitting Spirea of the North to preserve the species. When the Hero brings her the seed, she gives him the recipe to the dispel potion and also gives him a magic acorn.

Dryads prefer to live away from civilization, delighting in the savage wilderness away from those that would seek to cut their trees. They live with respect to nature and will accept the company of those that do so as well. Attractive men who are fond of nature will often be taken in by a dryad to act as both a mate and a guardian. Dryads are generally benign, and will attempt to warn off intruders. Only those that seem cruel and determined to destroy a dryad’s forest will see the full wrath of these fey. All dryads are magically bound to a single tree. These trees serve as the dryad’s life force and home. A dryad will fight to the death to protect her bonded tree, as, should the tree be cut or destroyed, the dryad will die soon afterward. A dryad cannot stray too far from her bonded tree without suffering the same fate. If a dryad leaves the vicinity of her tree for too long, she will die. Along with other fey, dryads speak Sylvan.
They’re normally warm, but they will attack those who threaten the forest without mercy. With vines that pop out of the ground, they can bind the man and throw him to the other monsters that are starving for sex. They are extremely passionate about romance. They seduce men they like, imprison them inside the tree, and then have sex with them inside. From the outside this just looks like the dryad is coiling around the tree, but in spite of how it looks, there is a hollowed out area inside of the tree that is spacious like a house. Unlike what it seems from the outside, the man inside is furiously having sweet intercourse with the dryad and is enjoying her sweet bodily fluids. Men who are shut inside the tree for a long time eventually fuse with the tree. Men who end up like this cannot die until the tree dries up, just like the dryads themselves. Unable to escape, they’ll just continue to be loved by them. People who don’t know anything might feel like it’s tragic, but the man inside will never tire of having sweet, gentle intercourse with his beloved wife while experiencing otherworldly pleasure. Furthermore, generally, there are many other dryads nearby, and the dryads and their husbands can go back and forth between the inside of each others trees, so there is a particular society inside the trees, and they don’t feel lonely. A dryad’s tree can grow huge by sipping men’s spirit energy, then sweet syrupy sap starts to flow from the surface. There are many bug type monsters that come seeking sap. When they’re licking it up, seen from the outside, it looks like they’re just coiled around the tree and licking it. But for the monsters that came to lick the sap, the dryad, and the man, the world looks entirely different. When the tree grows, the space inside becomes huge, and the bug monsters lured by the fragrance of sap and spirit energy will visit. Dryads have sweet, wild threesomes with visitors, as if to share their husband they are so proud of. As a dryad’s tree grows bigger, the space grows bigger, and more and more monsters come to visit. Everyday the man will be having sex with the dryad and other monsters. He can alternate between them, or enjoy sex smothered in many women’s bodies. Their favourite treat is the man’s sap, and they’ll keep feasting until their bodies are all sticky with nectar.
Her most notable power is shown in Secret of Mana when both the Girl and the Sprite must simultaneously cast the Mana Magic spell upon the Boy so that the Mana Sword is at its highest potential, and thus can be used to defeat the Mana Beast. Dryad seems to suffer from a low self-esteem in most of her appearances and thinks very lowly of herself even though she is the Mana Spirit that is closest to the Mana Goddess..

The dryads of ash trees were called the Meliai. The ash-tree sisters tended the infant Zeus in Rhea's Cretan cave. Rhea gave birth to the Meliai after being made fertile by the blood of the castrated Ouranos. They were also sometimes associated with fruit trees. Dryads, like all nymphs, were supernaturally long-lived and tied to their homes, but some were a step beyond most nymphs. These were the hamadryads who were an integral part of their trees, such that if the tree died, the hamadryad associated with it died as well. For these reasons, dryads and the Greek gods punished any mortals who harmed trees without first propitiating the tree-nymphs.
Dryads are exclusively female and use human or elven males only for mating, taking strong males to pass their traits onto their children. That is what happened to the baron of Hamm, Freixenet. They sometimes raise normal, human children as dryads, even though they do not possess all the skills of real dryads. They are sometimes also called nymphs.

(MoM 22) (APG 206) Allies of the night elves, dryads are the daughters of the demigod Cenarius. They are peaceful by nature and despise violence; however, like ancients, night elves, and their brothers the keepers of the grove, dryads fight to protect the forests and their allies. They are particularly adept at destroying magic and are immune to its effects. Most dryads remain in the forests, frolicking with the animals, dancing in the rain, and occasionally bringing nature’s wrath onto their enemies. Some dryads, however, leave their forests and become adventurers. For some, encounters with hostile forces spark this desire — they wish to bring the fight to the enemies of nature. Others are curious about the world outside their forests, and wish to experience new environments and meet new beings. Other dryads and night elves see adventuring dryads as a bit less unusual than adventuring ancients. Dryads possess an innate streak of curiosity, after all. However, adventuring dryads are still branded as eccentrics who go against the natural tendencies of their kind. (APG 28) Dryads are peaceful watchers of the forest. They are friends of the night elves and defenders of nature. Daughters of Cenarius, they somewhat resemble centaurs, their cursed brethren. Dryads enjoy play and frolic in the forests. Despite the fact that dryads abhor violence, they fought alongside their night elf allies in the Third War and continue to protect the forests against the depredations of the Scourge, the Burning Legion and other intruders. They focus their efforts particularly against hostile magic. (APG 206) While dryads are peaceful with all inhabitants of the forest, they can be fierce defenders against those who would do harm to nature. (MoM 22) Dryads are peaceful, but they fight to protect nature and in defense of their night elf allies. They hurl their spears at close range (most dryads carry five or six spears), closing to melee when they run out of ammunition. In a serious engagement, one or two dryads flee to summon help from ancients, keepers of the grove or night elves, while the others delay their opponents. A dryad’s magical nature coats her weapons with a painful and debilitating poison. Dryads attempt to weaken their enemies to the point where their gear weighs them down, forcing them to move slowly and making them vulnerable. (APG 206) They are swift, sure and at peace with all of the children of the forest. Though they abhor unnecessary violence, the dryads will defend the wildlands of Kalimdor with their lives if need be. (W3Man 120) __TOC__
  • They are only dangerous in large numbers, and then only if threatened. Angered dryads have been known to crush attackers under tons of rose petals.
Shy, intelligent, and resolute, dryads are as elusive as they are alluring—they avoid physical combat and are rarely seen unless they wish to be. If threatened, or in need of an ally, a dryad uses charm person or suggestion, attempting to gain control of the attacker(s) who could help the most against the rest. Any attack on her tree, however, provokes the dryad into a frenzied defense.
  • A dryad (or wood nymph) is a female spirit often associated with a certain tree.
  • Dryads are an Atlantean myth unit in Age of Mythology that can be created from the Hesperides God Power, available in the Heroic Age by worshipping Theia.

Male Dryads lived in Oak, Elm, Holly and Rowan trees, while female dryads lived in Beech, Silver Birch, Larch, Willow and blossom trees. Each individual dryad was spiritually tied to one tree and if that tree was cut down or destroyed, the dryad tied to it would fall down, die, and disappear.
When appearing to Elves or men in a friendly or alluring aspect, Dryads take on the form of beautiful, lithe young women with green, brown, or silvery-white skin and leafy green or russet foliage growing from their head. Their long fingers are dangerous weapons, sprouting thorns or whip-like twigs. They are extremely spiteful and vengeful if offended or if the tree they inhabit is threatened or harmed. If a Dryad's tree is destroyed, the Dryad will lose 1 W per day until it withers away and dies. Sometimes Dryads will assume an awesome and savage aspect and fight alongside their Wood Elf allies. At the beginning of combat, a Dryad may choose which aspect to shape-shift into in order to fight. At the beginning of each combat round, the Dryad may change form if it wishes. The Dryad may take any of the following forms:
  • The Dryad is a Champion unit from the Forest Box. It can use the (Magic) Summon Sapling ability. Using this ability costs 1 morale. Funnily enough, summoning a sapling gives the player 2 morale, for a net profit of 1 morale. The Dryad can be used effectively as a defender. The defended point will be replaced by a Sapling which can block further attacks towards other pieces, while the Dryad can still guard that Sapling. She was killed when William Stryker fired a missile at the bus, blowing it up, killing the depowered students aboard as a result.
The only sensible course of action when approached by such a creature is to flee as far and as fast as possible, but most potential victims find themselves enraptured by the Dryad’s comely form or beguiled by the haunting melodies of her otherworldly song.[2a] Before long, the victim is sufficiently addled that he will do anything that the spirit desires, and so is swiftly enticed into the shadowy depths of the forest. Only when the hapless prey is completely under her spell, his mind lost in a cloud o f desire and promise, does the Dryad strike. Sloughing off her beauteous form she transforms into a war aspect, the hatred and spite within her soul remaking her outer appearance into a thing of horror. Her hair becomes a twisted mass of thorns, briars and twigs, her face distorts into a terrifying and savage visage, her limbs turn long and wood-like, and her fingers become vicious talons capable of rending and impaling her prey. Before the victim has even registered his predicament, his blood is spilt upon the hungry ground of the forest and his body ripped limb from limb with implacable savagery.[2a] When Athel Loren takes the field of battle, the Dryads assume their war aspect and hunt upon the flanks of the army. Their lithe and swift nature allows them to cover great distance at speed, falling with ease upon a foe who, until moments before, thought themselves entirely safe from harm. Indeed, a surprise attack by hissing and darting Dryads is oftentimes the first tangible warning an enemy army has that Athel Loren marches against it. That, or their general disappearing from camp in the still watches of the night, only to be found shredded and lifeless in a nearby glade at dawn the next day. Dryads are not known for their mercy.[2a]
  • The third monster belong to the Plant-type, and also the first one to have a rather different appearance from its predecessors.

These fey remain something of a mystery even to other woodland beings. Tales tell of dryads who took fancy to handsome elves or human men, charmed them, and held them captive. But since dryads rarely associate outside of their own kin, these stories may be fictional. Dryads are more likely to ensnare intruders and then send their charmed "guests" out to handle the threat.
