  • There is continuing speculation as to how exactly the Thukkers manage to move their vast caravans throughout space relatively undetected, but their expertise with jump drive technology became glaringly apparent when they created the Nomad. Now seeing widespread service with roving Thukker outrider detachments, the Nomad is rapidly becoming an essential part of Thukker life away from the great caravans. Thukkers spend their entire lives forever wandering the infinite in their vast caravans. As such their technology is based as much upon necessity as their ingenious ability to tinker. Their ship designs therefore tend to based upon the standard empire templates but extensively modified for the Thukkers unique needs.
  • The Nomad is an enemy in Chrono Trigger that appears in the Black Omen. They appear with Watcher. They will escape after a certain amount of time from when the fight begins, the best strategy is to kill the Watcher first, preferably in one hit and concentrate on killing the Nomads. Killing them gives you a massive exp and TP bonus. They're notoriously hard to hit, and since your Techs and items have been locked by the Watcher, they're pretty difficult to kill off before they run away. Alternatively to save an extra turn equipping fire resistant armor should be enough to ignore the damage from the Watcher and attacking the Nomads before they leave the fight, since they will leave the fight regardless.

Als spelers hem verslagen hebben zal hij schijn neervallen met zijn laatste woorden: "Jij... Jij hebt deze wereld verdoemd". • The Taylors have a fully-restored Marlboro red Chevrolet Nomad that is most often driven by Jill. It was in the red Nomad that Jill hypocritically flirted her way out of a traffic ticket and it was this very same car that Tim destroyed with an I-beam dropped from a crane at a construction site. The Nomad can often been seen in the garage when the hot rod (in it's varying degrees of restoration)is not parked in the garage.
  • Climbing over mountains of junk and waste on the desert planet Bagdaboo, Nomads have mastered the art of exploration in harsh terrain. They scavenge for Droid fuel and rare antique metals to sell at the Galactic Market for profit.

  • Nomad (aka Dave Miller) currently performs his original music as a solo artist and also with his band, Drifting Compass, in the Santa Cruz area and beyond. Addicted to the road and the pleasures that it brings, there is little question as to where Nomad found his inspiration for the great songs that appear on his CD, Trails To Hear And Now. The songs are filled with thought-provoking lyrics that question the norm and with great melodies that linger in one's head. "Trails To Hear And Now" (CD)
  • Male nomads are predominantly type 9 and type 6, which makes them good axe tech sparkers. Their stats are above average in STR, DEX, and SPD, which means if in the early to mid stages you need an axe sparker, you can do worse than these guys. (Though, you can get the privateer probably just as easily). Esen is noted for being a swordmaster & a dark mage, but you'll have to work for it, as he comes in with no proficiancy in it (he & Batu are great counter baiters, though....). They are all named after rulers of Mongolia.
  • In flight, Nomad was damaged by a meteor and lost contact with Earth. It later merged with an alien probe called Tan Ru, resulting in a powerful new machine which, due to scrambled programming, destroyed anything that was perceived as imperfect. The episode The Changeling only referred to Nomad as having launched in "the early 2000s". The specific date of 2002 comes from other sources. Captain Anne Gauvreau claimed to have recovered other Nomad probes in deep space, which she in turn sold to the Smithsonian Institution. (TOS novel: Prime Directive)
  • The Nomad was a large aircraft used by Solid Snake, Otacon and Sunny, which housed several computers, as well as beds and other living necessities, serving as a flying HQ for the organization. In 2014, Solid Snake and Otacon, wanted by the government, worked, lived, and raised Sunny on board. The plane also carried a helicopter compacted within the cargo hold, that Otacon piloted on missions. During the aftermath of the Guns of the Patriots Incident, the Nomad landed on a runway in order to serve as a makeshift chapel for Meryl Silverburgh and Johnny Sasaki's wedding.
  • The Nomads are a dangerous alien species that have attacked the Sirius Sector colonies. They fly Nomad Fighters, Nomad Gunboats, and Nomad Battleships. They were placed in the Sirius Sector by the Dom'Kavash, to take care of the Sector and repel invaders. While they wield sophisticated weaponry that requires no energy to fire, their ships lack any kind of shielding. As such, they have relied upon their ability to possess humans to attempt to divide the colonies against each other until humanity's forces were weak enough to be mopped up by Nomad technology. The Order, using captured Nomad crystals, has kept this threat in check.
  • Nomad doesn't know when he was born, nor does he care. He has concocted a story for himself that his dad left before he was born and that his mother, of whom he has no recollection, took care of him alone during his toddler years but was then killed in the November Riots. He has vague memories of other adults, of running away and being brought back, but whether by the authorities or someone else he can't recall. All he knows that by the time he saw other kids going to school he was already living on the streets, hustling his way among the outCaste of Glass.
  • With a combat level of 699, he has one of the highest combat levels of any quest monster in the game. He may be re-fought as a class A boss in the Dominion Tower (after Nomad's Requiem) or twice consecutively in a special match. During Nomad's Elegy, he returns even stronger at level 799 and with 100,000 life points for each of his 4 phases. Another version of him is fought twice during Sliske's Endgame - once on his own, and another time alongside Linza the Disgraced and Gregorovic (the current titleholder).
  • Common Attribution: Quosela Categorical Attribution: The Nomads Evolutionary Star System: Areba System Population Data: 500 million The Nomads are an aquatic race with both amphibian and reptilian traits, living on Quoslos, the third planet in the Areba System. Thousands of years ago, an as yet unknown race inserted a complex system of gland, containers, sacs and tubes, used to extract their main diet, blood. They also have an insect-like hive-mind. Despite this they retain a lot of individuality.
  • Nomad was launched from Earth in 2002 as the planet's first interstellar vessel to seek out new life. It was a prototype and the only one of its program built. During its mission, Nomad was damaged by a meteorite and lost contact with Earth. It later encountered an alien probe called Tan Ru in deep space. The two units merged, resulting in a powerful new construct with faulty programming, which destroyed anything that was perceived as imperfect, a condition that apparently applied to any organic living being. Travis Mayweather had a model of the Nomad probe in his quarters aboard Enterprise.
  • Durant sa mission, Nomad fut endommagé par une météorite et perdit contact avec la Terre. Il rencontra, par la suite, la sonde extra-terrestre Tan Ru, dont la mission était de stériliser des planètes. • Nomad is an immensely powerful warrior-magician and the host of the Soul Wars minigame that he created. He will offer free tours of the battlefield along with a short explanation of how the game works, or a book that explains fighting in Soul Wars. The game is just a facade, however, and part of the sorcerer's secret plans that he executes in a huge cave complex beneath Soul Wars Island. Nomad has an unfortunate imp minion called Zimberfizz.

  • The Nomads are dangerous alien creatures created by the Dom'Kavash Empire as a way to protect their space and repel invaders, and can be found within the Sirius Sector. It was on board the aircraft where Otacon created most of his later inventions, such as OctoCamo, and Metal Gear Mk. II./Metal Gear Mk.III The Nomad also carried three chickens, which provided eggs for Sunny, named "Solid," "Liquid" and "Solidus." It also forbade smoking, although Solid Snake often ignored that policy, resulting in Sunny, as soon as she discovers that he is smoking, telling him off (one time even taking away the cigarette and disposing of it before he got the chance to smoke it) and reminding him that there is no smoking aboard the Nomad. It also contained a weapons rack, which included the Operator, Mk. 2, a DSR-1, and an AK-102. During the aftermath of the Guns of the Patriots Incident, the Nomad landed on a runway in order to serve as a makeshift chapel for Meryl Silverburgh and Johnny Sasaki's wedding.
  • Nomad is a four-part story from Star Wars Tales. It is the saga of Darca Nyl, a wandering mercenary and takes place approximately six months after Episode I. It consisted of a four-part serial in Star Wars Tales 21, 22, 23, and 24. It was collected into a single 82-page comic for Star Wars Tales Volume 6.

Arrived Ardencaple, Scotland January 29th, 1458. * The second NNGO-commanded ship “Nomad“ left its home port of Cill Chaoi, Ireland on January 17th, 1458. Passengers included Zeakman (Captain:), Antigoon (Crew), Ashley, Balutz, Devin, Lord_senschal, Oydelia (Crew), and Shaitan. * The Nomad arrived in Ardencaple, Scotland January 29th, 1458. Because there was no port constructed there at the time (aka a natural port), a "forced docking" was required. However, the Nomad nevertheless docked successfully.
They are semi-intelligent and adaptable animals that have made many intellectual advancements in their short period of settled life, including a primitive form of mathematics and a simple language. They have a huge desire to adapt and perfect their ugly and slow and as they put it “inefficient” bodies. Culturally they are still in the Stone Age. They see themselves as ugly after being transported aboard various scientific vessels and seeing many beautiful and wondrous creatures.
  • Nomads are a type of enemy in Borderlands 2. They are slow-moving bandits with high health. Some nomads wield large, bulletproof shields that provide nearly full cover. Most nomads will only carry a gun whereas others will dual wield a pair of guns.
  • In flight, Nomad was damaged by a meteor and lost contact with Earth. It later merged with an alien probe called Tan Ru, resulting in a powerful new machine which, due to scrambled programming, destroyed anything that was perceived as imperfect. Nomad was rediscovered by the USS Enterprise in 2267, after it had destroyed the inhabitants of the Malurian system. Mistaking Captain James T. Kirk for Jackson Roykirk, Nomad allowed itself to be brought aboard Enterprise. There, it erased the memory of Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, and killed Lt. Commander Montgomery Scott -- although Nomad was able to then "repair" him. Eventually, Kirk managed to convince Nomad it was imperfect itself, and thus leading it to self-destruct. (TOS episode: "The Changeling", ST website: Startrek.com) The episode The Changeling only referred to Nomad as having launched in "the early 2000s". The specific date of 2002 comes from other sources. Captain Anne Gauvreau claimed to have recovered other Nomad probes in deep space, which she in turn sold to the Smithsonian Institution. (TOS novel: Prime Directive) As it is stated canonically that only one Nomad was built and launched, Gauvreau likely either misspoke, or misidentified her discoveries.
Nomad was eventually discovered by the USS Enterprise in 2267, shortly after it wiped out four billion inhabitants of the Malurian system. Originally deeming the Enterprise to be as imperfect as the Malurians, it opened fire on the vessel, nearly destroying it. It halted its attack when Captain James Kirk hailed the probe and introduced himself; Nomad had mistaken Captain Kirk for Roykirk. Upon coming aboard the Enterprise, Nomad found the crew to be imperfect and wiped out the memory of Lieutenant Uhura as well as killing Montgomery Scott. Fortunately for Scotty, Nomad was able to "repair" him on the orders of Kirk. Using the ship's star charts, Nomad was able to fix coordinates on Earth and planned to return. Kirk was concerned that if Nomad returned to Earth and found it to be populated with imperfect lifeforms, it would sterilize the planet. Captain Kirk managed to convince Nomad that it was imperfect after it mistook Kirk for Roykirk, its creator. He then told Nomad to "execute its purpose" (to destroy what was imperfect), and being imperfect, Nomad attempted to destroy itself, though Kirk was able to beam it out into space before it did so.
During Memory of Nomad, he returns much stronger at level 1001 and with a total of 800,000 life points during his phases. Players may defeat Nomad once each week for rewards.

Primarily a guitarist and singer-songwriter, Nomad has come forth to display a broad array of talent on Trails To Hear And Now where all the instruments are played by him, creating a tight full band sound that rocks. Whether it's the sweet mandolin fills, tight bass grooves, vocal harmonies, or the great acoustic rhythms, Nomad shows us his multi-talented abilities to rock our world. Trails To Hear And Now showcases Nomad's great songwriting abilities with songs that inspire, enlighten, and get your booty groovin'! "Trails To Hear And Now" (CD)

  • Nomad is one of the many role-playing subclasses in Elder Tale.
An avid graffiti artist, Nomad's profound hatred of the Conglomerate form a common theme for his works. In addition to his painting he has also found a way to hack into and subvert the giant advertisement projections to show the true nature of the Conglomerate - but for these endeavours he usually needs Faith's help. He met her for the first time almost ten years ago, and though he would never admit it openly he has more or less adopted her to be the big sister he never had. True to his name he has never settled and is always a little restless. With his roaming nature taking him to both the high and the low places of Glass he knows much about where to go and who to talk to, and though he's not a runner himself he fits well into their extended community.

  • Nomads are the village recruits of the Crimean Khanate.
Nomads themselves are bluish in coloration and feature a snake-like mouth that is used to possess others by entering through the mouths of their victims. A sure sign of Nomad possession is one's eyes turning purple. There is no known way to reverse Nomad possession, and many view termination to be the only cure for a victim of the Nomad threat. However, at the end of the Single Player Plot, after defeating Nomads in a battle within their homeworld we find all the people possesed earlier by Nomads totally uncontaminated. The Nomad parasite itself appears to be larger or the same size as a human. Because of the fact that the Nomad physically resides inside a human body, a Nomad parasite must be able to stretch and compress its own body significantly. Nomad spaceships are apparently grown organically, or at least assembled of organically grown parts. Their ships come in the same pastel blues as the Nomads themselves, suggesting a similar biology. Their weapons seem to have self-contained power sources (probably also biological), which explains why Nomad Lasers could be be fitted onto the corrupt Liberty forces' Defenders, and why Nomad Energy Blasters and Cannons can be fitted on your own ship. Oddly, the Nomad's permanent structures (the Nomad Jumpgate and Lair in particular) appear to be made of a gray-green stony material instead. Perhaps these are actually old Dom'Kavosh architecture, and not the Nomads' own work at all. The Nomads first began to move against humanity two months before the destruction of Freeport 7, when Rheinland explorers landed on the planet of the Omicron Major system. (This is the same planet that you fly past during the assault on the Dyson Sphere; when the explorers visited, the Sphere was hidden from view by a nebula). As per their programming, the Nomads immediately began making preparations to exterminate these intruders in the Masters' domain. They possessed the explorers and used them as a springboard to begin infiltrating the Rheinland government. Early on, a Nomad came to Liberty and infected the CO of a soldier named Orillion, prompting him to escape and establish the Order. In an early deleted Epilogue clip that was made while Freelancer was still in development, the Nomads are displayed to have arrived in Earth's solar system shortly after the 5 Alliance sleeper ships departed for Sirius, and, with a massive spaceship the size of a moon, fired an energy burst into Earth's sun that made it go supernova and destroy nearly the entire system, with no survivors except for an Alliance military officer named Attickus Rockford, who survived the shockwave on the dark side of Pluto, the Alliance's final base. Since humans are not displayed to have inhabited any other solar system in Freelancer besides Earth's at that time, the 5 sleeper ships containing Alliance human races would have been the only surviving members of humanity left after the Nomad's genocide of all Coalition races. However, this information is not officially considered canon.

(TOS: )
  • The Nomad (遊牧民 Yuubokumin) class is a horse-mounted combat physical class that is exclusive to the Elibe Series of Fire Emblem Series. They are mounted bow users and can promote into Nomadic Troopers. Despite being mounted units, Nomads are capable of moving through forests without facing any additional movement penalty beyond what a foot unit would face, a distinct reference to the symbiotic relationship that they share with nature.
  • The Nomads are dangerous alien creatures created by the Dom'Kavash Empire as a way to protect their space and repel invaders, and can be found within the Sirius Sector. While technically the protectorate species of the area, they are stated as having attacked the Sirius Sector before. They have the ability to possess humans and give them super-strength, among other abilities. Nomads wield sophisticated weaponry which requires no energy to fire, yet their ships lack any kind of shielding. Because of this, they have relied on their ability to possess humans in an attempt to divide the colonies against one another, until humanity's forces are so weak from infighting that they could easily be mopped up by Nomad technologies. However, The Order kept this threat in check by using captured Nomad crystals. The Nomad species are bluish in coloration and utilize a serpentine mouth that they use in order to possess other beings by entering through the mouths of their victims. A sure sign of Nomad possession is one's eyes turning purple. Unfortunately, no known cure exists to reverse Nomad possession, and many view termination of the infected to be the only way to "cure" a victim of the Nomad threat. The parasite itself appears to be larger or of the same size as a human. Because of the fact that the Nomad will physically reside within a human host body, the parasite must be able to stretch and compress its own body significantly. They also appear to have either psychic or gravitational manipulation abilities, although the theory is one which is up to debate. One Nomad-infested Human, Governor Tekagi, demonstrated this ability by throwing a large knife from under his hand. A careful eye reveals that he never actually grabbed the hilt of the knife, and therefore did not in fact throw it in a traditional sense. Therefore it is entirely possible that Nomads utilize telekinesis, although at the same time, it may be possible that Tekagi had a hidden launcher mounted to his wrist. Another debatable theory is how Nomad spaceships actually work. Their ships - Nomad Fighters, Gunboats, and Battleships - are most likely manifestations of the same energy that Nomads themselves are created of; with this in mind, the vessels would in fact be living beings as well. It is also possible that the Nomadic weaponry that had been implanted into Liberty fighters were of this same type, routing to a Nomadic power system in the fighter and relying on the Nomad inside as the pilot to command it. How Nomads could grow to the size of battleships, however, is unknown.
