  • Martin Sterling (born 1962 in Manchester) has been a storyliner on Coronation Street since 2004 as well as contributing 6 of his own scripts to the programme in 2008. He also wrote the video spots for Norris Cole's Twitter Page during the week of Peter Barlow's trial. He became a professional writer in 1993 following a career in banking however prior to that he had achieved publishing success with a play in 1990 entitled A Test of Compassion and a book on saucy cinema entitled Keeping the British End Up. In addition to Coronation Street he has since published books on Eric Morecambe and James Bond. Journalistic pieces have appeared in The Times and Woman’s Weekly and, as a resident of Norfolk, he has been a regular voice on local radio for many years and national radio with spots on Gloria Hunniford’s Open House show.
